Group for Text-based RPGs

Knights of the Written Word

This isn't just a group for people who only play in text-based games, either because they have to or prefer to. It's also a group for anyone willing to either regularly or occasionally play in or run a game that doesn't use voice. We're up to over 90 text-based users, and we'd love to have more, especially GMs. If you've ever said, as a GM or a player, that you'd be willing to use text-only if that's what the majority of the group wanted, then you should check us out.

We're growing by the day, and have gotten several text-based games off of the ground, and looking for players/GMs for several others. I'm personally still hoping to find a GM for a gestalt game for either 3.5 or PF.

Still have a GM deficit, though, not that it's unusual to have more players than GMs, but we're particularly short on GMs that run games outside of the popular titles.

I hope that I'm finding new people when I post this.

get me in this bitch. Text is the only way my shitty monkey brain can properly write dialogue, and thus is the only good medium for playing tabletop roleplaying games. Please let me in Megan, I'm desperate.

This group is growing in leaps and bounds. There are text chat games, being spun up and running more and more, that range from old school retroclones of D&D up to 3.5 and 5E along with fate, a few scifi, CoC, and a few others if I read the groups forums.

I ran a long running game of Masks of Nyarlathothep using text only, and really enjoyed it. I generally use voice now but do enjoy text only also. I'm pleased to see you are getting quite a bit of interest in this.

The group has grown to over 140 members, has about half a dozen games recruited and running, there is a another handful of interest checks or recruiting going on, there is discussions about how to use systems, that lean towards voice, in text games. There is not that much drama going on (watch it break out now) in the group.

Over all it is a nice group that is laid back and not in your face but more social in gathering and enjoying our hobby.If anyone has interest in playing or running a text chat game, they should stop by and check us out.

You have any 5e going on tonight?

Not really sure. 5e isn't my DnD of choice, so I really wouldn't pay much attention if a game of it sprang up. I think there's been a couple of 5e games started, but no clue what days they play on, or if any of them are still looking for players.
