Attack macro not using correct "To Hit" bonus? DND 5e character sheet.

Recently updated my proficiency bonus. On the "Weapons" tab in the character sheet my "To Hit" bonus is 6. However when I click the "Attack" button next to it the rolling macro uses a 5 "To Hit" bonus. Is this a known issue? Any way to fix it? Or just never use macros?

The sheet is working fine. If you dont get the correct bonus on your roll then it's usually because you have an incorrect entry somewhere in the sheet (or have miscounted what your bonus should be) - Check the core stats page and your class levels (these drive your proficiency score) is set correctly as wel as the global bonus section on the core stats page or You have manually added an attribute in the attribute and abilities tab of your character that has the same name as an attribute that the sheet uses. In this case the sheet will display it's own attribute but any macro that uses the attribute in a roll will use the manually entered one entered independently of the sheet. This can also happen if you have changed which sheet the campaign uses and an old attribute from a o longer used sheet conflicts with the 5e sheet. Post a screenshot of your core stats page, your class page and your weapons page and I can help confirm whether it is the first issue. Alternatively, if you have added any attributes manually yourself (or have used a different sheet with this character in the past) then removing the additional attribute should fix things...though this can be difficult to track down. It's often better to create a new character and fill in the core stats/class levels/weapons section for this character and see whether you get the same issue. If you dont then it's likely you have an old manual attribute added to your original character that is conflicting

Thanks man. Core stats: <a href="http://puu.sh/dxFnO/ef956223db.png" rel="nofollow">http://puu.sh/dxFnO/ef956223db.png</a> Class: <a href="http://puu.sh/dxFpK/2101448340.png" rel="nofollow">http://puu.sh/dxFpK/2101448340.png</a> Weapons: <a href="http://puu.sh/dxFr3/75f2700a32.png" rel="nofollow">http://puu.sh/dxFr3/75f2700a32.png</a> As you can see on the weapons page it says "To hit: 6". But if I roll a natural 1, my total comes up as 6. And natural 20 total ends up being 25 I'm not the only person in the current game with this issue.

The screenshots look ok. Can you try creating a brand new, never been edited/used before character and fill in the same details as the screenshots you posted and see if you get the same problem? Also can you post a screenshot of the roll output (with your mouse pointer over the roll so I can see the details of the roll in the tooltip popup?

I did a search and found this thread because I had this same problem with my proficiency bonus when my character leveled to 5 recently and the PB bumped up from +2 to +3. Everything shows correctly in the green fields for calculated values using my PB - saving throws, skills, weapons and spells. But when I roll the macro it uses the +2 bonus. Anything not using the PB rolls correctly. I kicked up my level to 9th to see what happens with a +4 bonus and it still used +2 value. I took Actoba's advice creating a brand new character sheet and I manually re-entered the data (cut/paste mostly) and it rolls correctly with the new sheet. I checked it at my character's level for +2, +3 and +4 PB and they all worked fine. I wasn't using a customized sheet before, but we did do our data entry on the older sheet prior to the revision in November. We let the data transfer over when we updated in November rather than starting with a clean sheet. I don't know if that means anything as far as troubleshooting but I can definitely say that starting with a clean sheet worked for me.

If you trabnsferred over from using the Playtest sheet to the full release 5e sheet then you likely have an attribute still kicking around that is set to the old proficiency bonus from the playtest. Whenever there is an attribute that is set with the same name as a sheet variable then any rolls which use that variable name will always use the older one thats hidden away somewhere on your attributes and abilities tab and not the one that will be displayed on the newer sheet. I would suspect that in this specific case, you have an attribute called PB set to 2 in your attributes and abilities tab. Deleting this should allow the rolls from the new 5e sheet to use the new 5e sheet variable of the same name instead of the old playtest one.
