Hello gamers, I have three players currently and am looking for 2 more. This will be for an established game that is 6 games into the campaign. Don't let "campaign" scare you, I'm not following a scripted adventure. Your characters will be joining the team as they plan and execute their next mission. The reason this game is labeled as the 'Weekend Gamer Group' is I like to think of us as a group that games together. When one game ends we can move to another without having to go through the difficult and stressful player-recruitment stage. Now, for the important part, the game itself. The setting is in the near future, approximately 2050. The quickest way to describe it would be 'action adventure'. The game plays like what I would call a realistic action movie - the group has certainly done exciting things, but unlike in a movie you can't take 20 bullets and the bad-guys don't automatically miss. I've created the setting myself. In my future patent and copyright law has been absolved. Microsoft, Apple, and the other Big-Names, unable to use their legions of lawyers to control the market, were quickly swamped by the up-and-comers. In the new world new corporations have formed that specialize in, well, everything. The name of the game is reverse engineering. If one company comes out with the iPhone, the others will quickly release the bPhone, the gPhone, the dPhone, etc. This is portrayed in-game as a Borderlands-esque equipment theme. Instead of magic making equipment different it's stats are altered based on what company manufactured it. The group was formed by chance when a group of office workers escaped a assault on their corporate HQ. They were recruited by the mysterious "Alfred" into a band of misfit mercenaries. The new players will be joining this group on their next mission. The group is much like the A-Team , only it's A for Average instead of A for Awesome. They're moving away from their office worker roots, but they aren't saving the world just yet. If you made it this far and are still interested, you can either PM me or make a post here. We'll set up a short Skype-call and go into the game in more detail. Don't let Skype scare you - it's free and the sound quality is better than TokBox. If you haven't heard of it it's owned by Microsoft, that'll either help you to trust it or scare you more. Final notes: 1) As you may have guessed, this game will be played using Roll20 (for dice rolls and the virtual table) and Skype (for voice) 2) The game will be weekly, Sunday's Noon-4:00pm Eastern time. 3) This is not a DnD or Pathfinder game, although I know those are the most popular here. We will be using Strands of Fate. It's a powerful system that you don't need to worry about at all, if you can think up a character you'll be fine. Strands gives enough rules to cover any action you want to take, but you don't have to get bogged down in 4 different rolls of 3 types of dice to do them.
