Hey everyone, I'm looking to GM my 1st campaign, and want to use Stars without Number as the ruleset with which to launch my GMing career. I've played a fair bit of d&d, as well as some dark heresy, so I'm no stranger to rollplay, but have never had a chance to be on the other side of the GM screen. Here's a basic outline of what I want to run with. You will be part of a freelancer crew, cobbled together from spacer bars and bounty-boards, tasked with nothing more than making a living in any way you see fit in the many worlds open to your exploration. How you decide to act shall be entirely up to you, with your actions and the jobs you choose shaping not only your story, but the universe around you. With a whole sector to explore, you will have the choice to interact with the various factions, government, and militia in any way you see fit; all of your actions will have consequences, and some caution will be required to ensure you don't anger the local arms manufacturer or mercenary group. Ideally we will have a crew of 4, maybe 5, and other than that, I really don't mind where you want to take things. I have a little bit of stuff planned out already, and it gives you some paths to choose, but once you've made some headway on that, I'll be running things in a more ad-lib style, bringing only a framework plan to each session, and letting your decisions shape the rest. New players are welcome, as I too will be learning the ruleset. I've looked through it, seen it played, and feel confident that I understand what's going on, but have yet to play with it myself, and look forward to doing so as both a GM and a player in the future.
