Global Macros

I would like to see macros recorded in the My Account page for global macros.  This will allow those that have multiple campaigns of the same game, to not have to recreate the macros we use. I would like to see either: A section under My Account with the macro add button like in the campaigns  or A separate link under the pulldown screen of the account name (upper right corner) with the My Account link. This will link to a separate page that can have the add macro button.  Then in the campaign under the macros we could get the list loaded automatically. Thank you :)
I think that is a good idea, it would make using macros easier from account to account.
I believe this was suggested before and a member of the team explained why it couldn't be done. Anyone remember where that is? also, the most recent update does make transporting macros a few hundred times easier (now just copy paist instead of copy paist sections while reinserting attributes) dispite those: wouldn't mind seeing something like this. +1

Its because macros are part of the campaign, the only way this could be possible is if they were exported to you lib and then imported back in. But you may as well just copy paste them from a text document.
all the macros are short like "/gr d20+2" but as GM or even as a player we have anywhere from 15-25 macros. It would be nice if we could just attach them to our account, and as we load into a campaign load up the macros from our account.

Importing and exporting them between campaigns would be the same amount of work for you to just copy paste from notepad. Its unlikely they will make a fundimental change in the way the whole system works just to make macros part of your account and I don't see then adding an import/export function as its so easy to do with notepad.
Am I missing something Alex or can you copy all your macros at one time to a notepad and then paste them?  If you're saying it's easy to copy every single macro and then paste it that's a pain. Hopefully someone will come up with an easy way to get them all done with out much hassle.
Well, one way to work around this is to make a base campaign and then copy THAT campaign whenever you want to make a new one.  That way the new campaign copies everything in the base for easy use.
What Helmic said...that's what I do, too.  It's still a bit of a pain, especially for those of us who are just now getting into roll20, because we haven't learned all the ins and outs, so as we discover new tricks we go back and update the base-campaign, but still have to manually update each of the campaigns....  Something like this would be cool.
Yes maybe I wasn't clearly explaining what I was meaning in my op. Helmic's idea is a good work around for the time being, but I would like to see a global macro system, where I could on click import/export my macros from my account to my campaigns and vice versa.
By campaigns, do you mean campaigns you play in, campaigns you created/GM, or both?  I'm assuming Both, and I would agree with that sentiment - that would be really cool, especially if you play in and GM games using the same game system.
yah both, I would use alot of the same macro's as a player as I do, as a GM.
Yea I just had to copy and paste all of my macros from one module/campaign to another. It would be nice if I could keep my macros universally without having to copy/paste everything going from one module/campaign to the other.
This would be a nice case for the basic macros that were available before character sheets: that those macros are universal for all campaigns you're in. That's how I treat them anyway and generally have them as quick puttons for rolling d20s d10s and d100s depending on the system.
Yah Terratani thats what I am looking for, a way to have all those macros quickly loaded from campaign to campaign.
+1 on this
Dumb Q:  But can the API create macros?  I've seen some good API scripts that automatically generate a character sheet template.  If you could configure something similar via an API script, that would be neat.  I'm assuming that funactionally doesn't exist, however :)
Sounds like a good question Excelsias, though I dont know either :) maybe someone else can answer it.  Also would like to hear from the dev's if this is something even being considered? Thank you.
