.Gifs

Hey there, Maybe I'm just doing something wrong but is it possible to get working .GIFs on handouts, characters and on the map?

This thread is in the wrong forum... but no, animated gifs do not work. There is already a suggestion for such however (I think) if you want to delete this thread and add your vote to it.

+1 for adding gif and adding your vote to previous suggestion. Quick before the suggestion gets time locked Support SVG files in addition to JPG, PNG, GIF

Vince, are Suggestions on the modern Suggestion board are getting time-locked? I think it's only suggestions from the old Suggestion board (and the other sub-boards like General Discussion) that got affected by that setting.
They get auto closed after 2 months, so you can't add comments, but you can still vote for them.

I really hate voting on anything I can't comment on as well.

(Sorry for the tangent, Joshua). I feel like that would make another good Suggestion for forum improvements then: Disable time-lock on Suggestions Forum. Allow commenting on older posts if it's in Suggestion forum & not marked "Complete". It kind of goes along with "Improve search results on the forum; allow searching by subforum" in the category of: Suggestions for Forum Improvements.
being able to use animated effects would expand on the /fx capabilities with fire. While I think I would prefer to see more of a plugin style FX expansion that you could outsource the work to the marketplace, this would be a good way to do it on the cheap maybe?

Here is a related thread for GIF suggestions, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2635127/slug%7D
Would really hope that the support for animated .gif files gets added!
This would be an awesome feature. I've seen some incredible maps made using this and honestly would consider moving to another virtual table top to use them if roll20 won't support it.
Seeing some of the animated maps on Reddit makes me REALLY want this feature added! .GIF files working for maps please!
This feature would be excellent, though I do have a couple questions for the devs. * Would the limit on file size prohibit the upload of high-quality animated maps, effectively limiting animations to tokens? * Would animation within the Roll20 framework cause performance issues while zooming or scrolling? * Would this feature be available to Base accounts, or only to Plus and/or Pro accounts?
.Gif support would be incredible for maps!
Any sort of animated maps would be amazing
I didn't think anyone would still be commenting on my 3 year old post, haha. This still is a wanted feature from me, as I could create incredibile scenery and perhaps even a title screen for the players when we aren't playing. Ah, to dream~
Animated GIFS would be sweet you got my vote!!!

support!
Would also support moving gifs. I thought I was terribly clever using this one for Perception, and it broke the chat log! https://media.giphy.com/media/peEK1uaYxfDZ6/source.gif
