Artemis Bridge Simulator is a multiplayer game played on individual servers with groups of 3-7 players. Everyone plays on their own computer as a particular bridge officer, controlling an aspect of the ship, their computer screen acting as a console. The only exception is the captain's computer screen which is the main screen/viewscreen. The captain does not actively use a computer but rather gives orders and asks questions of the other players. Artemis is meant to be played in the same room, like a bridge, but it can be played over any distance as long as you can communicate with skype or an equivalent. It uses the internet, after all. This game is REEEEEAAAALLLY cool. It's an indie game so they don't call it Star Trek but it might as well be. It is a game that comes the closest to being on a starship's bridge that I have ever seen. The positions include Captain/Main Screen, Weapons, Helm, Engineering, Communications, and Science. There is also the option of having a Game Master who controls the scenarios rather than the game itself. They're constantly updating the game so I suspect we'll see more positions added in the future. The types of missions you can take vary as well as the types of ships to use. If anyone plays this game or wants to play it, let me know. I haven't played in a while and want to get in on it again. And anyone have any thoughts on Artemis in general?
