I am trying to expand my macro usage for better campaign speed. I was very pleased to come across the recent change log entry below: "What that means is that when you add an attribute to a macro/ability, you'll see a piece of text get added like this: "@{Sir Bearington|Intelligence}" (or just "@{Intelligence}" if it's an Ability, since all Attributes in Abilities are assumed to be from the same Character the Ability is in). ... You just put, for example @{Intellect} and it's smart enough to know that means the Intellect Attribute from the same Character that the Ability is in. The Character name only comes into play when you're doing Macros." I (D&D 3.5 GM) have a lot of characters that follow the party around. I was trying to give each NPC a common Ability for frequent rolls (attack, spot, listen, etc...) that specifically uses their own modifier. I can add each ability to the macro bar, but I cannot figure out how to call that ability otherwise without opening the character journal entry. The wiki is still in progress, and I have done numerous trial and error tests. Could someone please explain (with examples) how to call a character specific Ability from the chat window or from a macro instead of filling my maps with macro bubbles? I would like to be able to select the NPC character I am currently playing as from the chat drop down list and perform their version of the ability @{NPC1|Spot} without having to type the name. I have given each character of interest an Ability with the same name "SL" that uses that character's Attributes "Spot" and "Listen". Ideally I would be to be able to type "SL" with the appropriate other symbols and have a macro use the active character's Ability or Attribute (assuming they exist). Thanks in advance for any direction.
