Contact Info for Custom Map Requests?

Hi All! A general question regarding rules/guidelines for Marketplace artists. I receive a TON of custom map requests from Roll20 gamers who find my maps in the Marketplace and use their Google-fu to locate my DeviantArt page to make their requests. This is exceptionally great practice for me, as well as another way to get my work seen and used. I wonder if it's allowed or encouraged for artists to include their contact info in Marketplace item descriptions? I don't want to seem tacky or circumvent Roll20's terms (or, you know, cut out Roll20's share that is very much deserved)... Any info would be very appreciated!

There have been a couple threads recently from people asking how to contact marketplace artists. The general answer has been to send an email to the Roll20 team detailing what artist they desire to contact and why, and then Roll20 acts as an intermediary. In that light, I would recommend sending an email asking about this. =)

Brian hit it on the nail. Please get in contact with the devs (<a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a>) and open a discussion with them.
Thanks, guys! I appreciate it!

You are welcome and if you know any other artist that is interested in this matter, just let them know to email the devs about it. They are a wonderful bunch of people.

I almost wonder if maybe it might be worthwhile for some artists to get together to set up a Facebook group, or some sort of forum, or blog, or something; where they could make themselves and commission information available all in the same place, as well as allow a thread/forum for the community to provide direct feedback on the kinds of sets they want to see on the marketplace in the future, and or receive news/announcements on the latest released sets. I suppose all of that could technically be arranged here on these forums, although if it was done on Facebook it might be easier to promote/share new sets as they're released.

Again I will repeat myself. Any and all artist that show their interest in this please contact and discuss this with the devs. Email them at <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> If a group of you propose a workable solution, the devs might agree to it. At the least they will listen to you so open a dialogue with the devs.

Getting into three or four or more separate e-mail conversations doesn't seem like the most efficient way to do this. But I want to show support to the other artists in this thread, so: E-mail sent! Don't feel pressured to reply to it.

This exists, for an outside-Roll20 solution, see Cartographer's Guild. Anyone can request maps there. Map-makers can offer their services there. Services and requests-for-maps can be marked as Paid or Unpaid on CG. <a href="http://www.cartographersguild.com/forumdisplay.php" rel="nofollow">http://www.cartographersguild.com/forumdisplay.php</a>... However I also support Roll20 Marketplace artists in their ability to list their contact information on their Marketplace offerings directly, so that it's the artist's choice whether they want to make their contact information publicly available or if they want to have the buffer of people emailing the Devs to request the artist's contact information. I believe this is already allowed for Roll20 Marketplace creators, as some creators on the Marketplace are already giving their contact information in the Marketplace item description.
