Campaign help

So my group is just about to start playing on a weekly basis.  At first I was thinking about keeping everything in one campaign so I would still have all their tokens and basic maps saved.  However I'm somewhat annoyed that there's isn't a way to clear the chat, as rolling characters just took up so much space.  So my question to the other GMs.  Do you start a new "campaign" for each session? or does the chat log not bug you?  Also, I'm a little bit disappointed with the ability to make maps on Roll20.  There aren't even any real good packages I can buy for Dungeon tiles, so I have to Photoshop the map myself and import it...  Any other suggestions? To the Roll20 admin people.  Is there a reason there's no clear chat command for the DM?  I figured it should be pretty easy to make. Thanks! Bryan
I clear the chat log every now and then if the game starts to feel a little laggy, but not every session.

The chat only retains about 100 lines or so before it archives so as the game continues all the extra chat is shifted into archives and not shown. There is no reason to start a new campaign when you can do what is called extend campaign. What that does is gives you the options to copy the campaign and the various things in it also. Pages, journals/sheets, chat,etc... You can just choose not to copy/extend the chat and presto/chango your campaign is duplicated without any of the chat.

Bryan, feel free to have all tokens and maps in one campaign. That is the normal way of doing things.  As others have stated, you can clear the chat by copying the campaign via the Campaign Details page.  Regarding not making maps, Roll20 is not a mapmaking program. It will never be one. There are plenty of other tools for that that Roll20 does not need to compete with. Some of them are free. :) - Gauss

If you like an online old school style I know of one on a forum I frequent. It's called mapmatic and the other is mapmatic+2 :  Basic Fantasy Role-Playing : tools  Take a look and see if that will work for you. Be sure to read the instructions.
