Shadowrun/Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi GMs

More "Dungeon Buddies" tokens are en route, but while I finish those off I thought I would turn my eye to the much neglected sci-fi tokens and whip up a new batch of cyberpunk. A bit of me wants to continue using the Dungeon Buddies style to flesh out this set, but I've had people complain that they're too "chunky". To combat that I've modified the body shape a little, and paired that up with some more realistic faces to help things look a little different. I've also sketched up a new body shape, one that strays away from the buddies style towards a more defined shape for comparison. So I have two questions for GMs in this genre: 1) What sort of tokens are you missing/in need of? (more cyberpunk, or more space sci-fi perhaps?) 2) Which of these designs do you prefer? Thanks for your help - as always I am keen to bring you what you want for your games, and I know many of the other artists here might take interest in the results of this too!

The thing that has prevented me from running a sci fi rpg is the lack of stuff in the marketplace. My honest opinion is that I wouldn't pay for anything in the Dungeon Buddies line because I don't like the clunky style. There are some nice looking tokens but not the style I look for when I run a game. The stuff I would pay for are the Devin token packs because they feel more gritty. A looks like his arms are amputated. B is much better.

I created a map pack: <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/313/gene" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/313/gene</a>... I've been debating on making a follow-up pack and was wondering what people would like to see.
Weirdly I like A, B makes him a look a bit shambly. It's very cutesy though much like the rest of the DungeonBuddies line, not sure how well that will do with cyberpunk and sci fi.

Less shambly pose perhaps. Not happy with the hands but it's a step towards a more gritty style. Is it a step in the right direction...?
Better, but now the face needs work. I liked the shadow on B better than that one.

Actually the exact same shadow, just missing the texture under it. I feel a little like I'm head back towards making these? <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/256/shad" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/256/shad</a>... Which wasn't what I was hoping for, but if that's more like what people want....? I'm not sure overall. There seems to be a definite lack of sci-fi tokens but this post has had 240+ views yet there's only been three expressing an opinion. I would have hoped that the sci-fi GMs would be more vocal in what they would like to see. I very much appreciate those of you who have taken a moment to let me know your thoughts, thanks folks. Every bit of community feedback is incredibly helpful, because without it we're just churning out content you may or may not want. I'll keep an eye on this thread for a bit and go back and re-consider what to make next.

Alan, my vote is for Cyberpunk and B. I believe I have purchased close to everything on the marketplace for Modern/Futuristic settings but then I wouldn't mind more. Simon, I like the work you have done. One suggestion maybe, I have cars for my modern games. They are all cute with flashy colors though. I wouldn't mind paying for some grittier looking clunkers. The cars I used on some of my maps immediately draw the eye as being sort of out of place. Then again I tell players to use their imagination.... Not talking "Mad Max" as much as maybe drabbier colors and maybe a beat up fender or two...

My interest would be less comic book. More like these. <a href="http://rpgmapshare.com/index.php?q=gallery&g2_item" rel="nofollow">http://rpgmapshare.com/index.php?q=gallery&g2_item</a>... <a href="http://rpgmapshare.com/index.php?q=gallery&g2_item" rel="nofollow">http://rpgmapshare.com/index.php?q=gallery&g2_item</a>... Tokens that are definitely lacking are vehicles, mecha/powered armor/Heavy Gears etc. Cyborgs, robots, androids... also spaceships.

I'm with Kilgs. I haven't started a Sci-Fi campaign yet, but I'm itching to start a cyberpunk game and prefer a little grittier feel to the tokens as well.

I'm going to look at a more gritty style then. I'm not sure what it'll look like but I'll post some experiments here if you'll give feedback. I might not be the ideal guy for the job, but let's see what happens :)
