Name Plates in Same Square As Token

Is there a way to move the nameplate so it is at the bottom of the token rather than below it? If something occupies the square below a token it's name plate gets covered. I like to give my tokens descriptors when there are multiple of similar creatures. Any way to acomplish this?

You might be able to get this effect by making your tokens shorter than a unit of the grid. I believe snap is to the top left corner, so making a token that is 1unit X .75unit should snap to the right place and have a nameplate that appears to be in the same grid square. That said, it probably will be obnoxious to set up and only satisfactory at one zoom level.

Just tired it. 1x.71 works best but is a little off putting over all. Would be a nice feature to have the option of a nameplate that is at the bottom or below the token. Thought I think I will make dwarf tokens 1x.75 from now on. Its a nice effect.

There may already be a suggestion in the suggestions forum about this topic (it seems familiar). If not, you could add one.

Also related but not the same, there is a Suggestion thread for scaling the vector elements (nameplate, status icons, and the 3 bars, as well as the distance of those graphics from the token itself when you reside the token, as well as the Ruler distances) so that a smaller token would have smaller-scale features. Which might or might not affect the vertical position of the nameplate. But I think it would be a fresh new Suggestion to ask for ability to shift the position of the nameplate up & down. I would think of asking for something like Google Gmail has: the options "Compact", or "Regular". So if you choose COMPACT then the nameplate & bars would pull in closer to the token. On Gmail the Regular gives you more whitespace around everything, Compact reduces the whitespace and smooshes the interface features closer together.
