do people use battle music for their rpgs?

If so, which ones? Personally I use alot of the baldurs gate soundtrack and ambient sounds.
I use quiet a variation off battle music some stuff from game sound tracks like final fantasy. a few anime ost's and it has to be two steps from hell for epic boss battle.
Two steps from hell ofc!! Thats actually a great idea
Protip; fast-paced music sucks for tabletop. Use slower-paced and more tense tracks like the Planescape OST. I speak from experience.
Planescape? I'll look into it thanks :3
I like to use music to set the mood, mark a change in the action... I use everything from time to time, light jazz, R&B, Russian folk songs, I have voted for adding the playlist option and urge all of you to do so as well, It would be great to be able to set up playlists to keep the music going without looping it over and over. Oh and don't discount choral music, all of the horror flicks that have used it has imprinted on most players, a boys choir singing in Latin really gets them to a jumpy state.

I personally like to pull battle music from thematically appropriate video games. Those battle tracks tend to be very long (30+ minutes) so they don't sound reptitive looping the same music every 2-3 minutes.

I use sound effects, and sometimes songs heard in the distance in the game world. Not exactly the same as background music, but background sounds in the world which are sometimes a song. Examples: I use dripping water, bats, and wind sounds (in the caves). When the players were outdoors and they encountered a gypsy encampment, I had some acoustic gypsy songs -- so it wasn't a background song, it was more like replicating the song the PC's were hearing in the world. In other words I don't play a whole orchestra playing a music soundtrack with modern instruments, but I will play a medieval Lute song if someone in the world is playing a lute. I've found these sounds in Roll20 in the Jukebox in Soundcloud. Here is a thread under Suggestions that you can vote +1 if you like, Alternatives To Soundcloud / Jukebox, and in this thread I've listed links to other threads requesting various Sound related services and improvements, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1245252/alternat...
I use music and background sounds all the time. I would like the ability to tag various maps with a designated theme music/sound vs having to locate a particular track and turning it on when I get there.

Well I haven't Gm'd before but a youtuber I saw [Kzx} used music a lot, for every occasion usually. His campaign was Anime themed too so it allowed him to get music from animes and use it to good effects...even if they were kinda dumb at times haha
I use music almost every moment during my campaign. I can't imagine it without it. It create an atmosphere and energy. Upbeat and intense music helps create more urgency and pumps players for combat. I use so many, it's hard to just come up with the list. 13 Age has good ones. I use game music from Castlevania, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, etc. There's even just amazing music people made. I just input random words, and I sometimes get some lucky sound tracks.
