Hello Players for Adventures in Homebrew World! What's your status? I would like each Player to report back with a brief description of your current place in relation to this campaign. Specific questions to prompt your response: Have you had a visit into the game map, or seen a World Tour from Gold? Have you rolled your ability scores with the DM? Has the DM approved your character concept? Did you fill in your Character Sheet and write some things on the Bio & Info tab of your character in-game as well? Are you waiting for an answer from the DM on something about your PC? Prompt me. What do you need to do to get ready for this game? What's missing on your character sheet? Do you have any AD&D 2E books, at least a nice Player's Handbook? I recommend obtaining a PHB if you can, even though you can get most of the information online <a href="http://purpleworm.org/rules" rel="nofollow">http://purpleworm.org/rules</a> Thanks for joining this group. Let's start to use the campaign forum, and dialog as a group. I'll post some questions and surveys to get the conversations and introductions started.
I think we agreed that I was practically done? Though we had said about meeting up to work out why I was near/in the city and do one or two small RP scenes? I dont have the PHB new in the UK from amazon is £74 D: I could buy used but I hate buying used books online incase they've been wrecked (I keep my books pristine)
Jack if you need PDF versions are all over the internet easy to download and Ctrl F to easily navigate it may not be as enjoyable as a hard back book but it should do just fine to have things on hand and such. The new ones are gonna be like that a lot more expensive than you are going to want to pay unless you are collecting and the old ones are hit and miss. If you are going to buy used its better to go to a local book shop or game shop of some kind and be able to physically inspect the book and see if they are to your liking.
Hey Maxx cheers for the heads up, I've already aquired more 2e pdf's than i'll ever read but I was just mentioning that I don't own a physical copy :)
Good good yea so many of them out there its easy to just get so many more than your ever going to use, but hey good to be prepared for anything I suppose.
way way too easy to get them xD even if I did start to read them back to back theres so many lol
Ability scores and concept all done and approved. I still need to fill in my Char Sheet (question: we aren't using the extra attributes, right?) I have three big things still to do: spellbook, proficiencies and equipment. So I'll have to meet with you soon to sort those out. Otherwise I think I am ready to get started.

Thanks to the survey respondents so far! Note I've posted 3 survey threads today so far. There are more to follow. Try to answer them all, reading from the Top post to get the questions. All -- Remember that in this campaign, the DM's knowledge of your character feeds back into the possibilities in the game world, and vice versa. It is a conversation. We all collaborate, summarize, listen, respond, and make a thoughtful continual character development and saga. It's a story created together, about your character, in my world, discovering the setting and finding the adventures together. Jack -- Agreed. I'm hoping to meet up with you this week and play some episodic origins, an introductory solo run for your PC. If there's time to do it, I'm hopeful we can do this, but I also should attend to bringing others' PC's up to the same level of completion as yours. Don't worry about the physical PHB. You'll do fine with the PDF and Purpleworm site. flutic -- good update. Let's push those things along, including, bug me for a time to meet, or hit me with questions on PM, or enter the game table if you think I'm online. Do Not use the extra attributes (under Player's Option button near ability scores, nor the "Attributes & Abilities" tab along the top). DO use the normal Player's Handbook 6 ability scores, PLUS ADD one more ability: PERCEPTION score in the notes right below Charisma. NWP's you need to figure out what you want, and I will look at your list and approve them and discuss any finer points. I'll help you, I'll figure out how many NWP slots you get to spend (Your class Mage gives you 4 NWP to start, your INT 17 gives you +6 NWP slots... so you have 12 total NWP slots to spend). You can put "Sign language" for free because you're a Kenku and they can do a form of sign language in lieu of verbal speech. You can also go ahead and put "Kenku to Kenku telepathy" here (no cost in slots), even though it's not an NWP, it's a racial ability, but this is where we keep track of Languages because adding languages costs NWP slots. You can also put "Read Magic" here for free, as a Mage ability in this campaign. Since you're a specialist mage and don't have a Kit, there's no other free NWP's that I can think of, so spend your 12 NWP slots on whatever you like, and ask me any questions about this. Equipment is on-your-own. Please work on that, when you have time, then I'll review & approve everything. Spellbook - proceed as discussed (by the way Jack did it for his PC already and it's fun), choose your Top 15 most-wanted spells. Then we will meet, and give you a % chance to start Learning some of those from the top of your list, rolling. I'll help you prioritize them and audit them once you list your batch of 15 favorites. Remember to only choose from Schools Of Magic that you can access, skip spells from your Opposition Schools. Maxx -- thanks for helping Jack in regards to book sources. But what about your PC! Answer the Survey, my friend. Let's organize your character creation status, hammer out any questions, get it ready for game day. Other Players -- respond to the surveys when you can! There is a proposed game-session time posted (NEXT MONDAY), which may be adjusted, depending on the survey responses and status of everyone's characters, and scheduling availability.
All I really need for questions is basically background information and some things like that. I mean most the actual mechanic stuff I pretty much got just need to fill a few things out, but I know the domains of my god and have all my stats etc. I will take a look though and let you know if I come up with anything else.

Maxx -- Thanks. I do want to hear a little more about your deep dwarf character. I'm going to take a look at your sheet in-game and see what you've got. Can't even recall what god you were following exactly, but I know it was going to be a certain kind of warring portfolio. EDITED: Ooops I put some stuff here that goes with Simkin / Jason / JarAxon's story. Edited to remove. Patrick -- Enter this thread & state your status please. Simkin -- Enter this thread & state your status please. I do want to work with you on the Greek pantheon spell spheres, and modify a few little things in the backstory if you wouldn't mind. vince b --- Status is, working on initial character creation, still deciding on species/class, has not rolled Ability scores, has not seen World tour, has not made a backstory summary. In dialog with the DM. Ryan G -- Please come back! The party could really use the Lizardman Fighter PC, Sanvar. Let me know if you see this message? If you still want to play? Status is: PC is 100% complete and exists in the campaign. Player is reconsidering scheduling and whether he has time to join the campaign for 2015. Joshua B -- Please answer the surveys if you still want to make a character and possibly play in this campaign. We would be happy to have you if possible. Taylor T -- Please answer the surveys if you still want to make a character and possibly play in this campaign. We would be happy to have you if possible. Edit: After the first 2 days these 4 have answered all the survey threads: Jack, Patrick, Flutic, Maxx. Playing Elf Spellsword, Elf Moonbow Ranger, Kenku Transmuter, and Deep Dwarf Ritual Priest. Applicants are still welcome to move your character forward and come into the game world with us!
I'm here, and status ok. Good to go, as you know.

Thanks my friend. So everyone knows --- I'm going to be posting 3-4 more survey threads soon, for different reasons. Wanted to give enough time for Players to see the first batch of questions, before I post more surveys. One purpose of these questions is introducing the Players & Characters to each other, starting to meet one another & get to know each other's names. I'd like us all to make friends from this & take interest in all the characters in the party, and all the fellow players in the group. Another purpose is as DM, making sure that I'm on the same page regarding each PC's skills and interests, keeping myself organized, inserting some of the Players' interests into the conflicts of the game world, and helping each Player to get set-up for the game as far as proper places to list your abilities, and so on. Getting us all on the same page. Tailoring the players who can actually play this according to everything like Schedule & completion of your PC. We are making good progress. Watch your Notifications for more Surveys and Questions here on the campaign forum as we move towards game times. I take all answers into account & appreciate your responses very much!

Welcome another new PC wandering into the vicinity of the gathering party. The player is Oscar and the PC is a Minotaur (bull-man) who is over 7-feet tall, carrying a Great Axe. No kidding. You hear the thunder of hooves. The ground seems to shake a bit. I'll let Oscar tell you more about him, in the forums and in-game, as we continue to collaborate on the game world story between DM & Each Player, Player to Player, and as a Group, developing the party composition and the goals, missions and modules, hopes and hardships, adventures in our future. Any questions or status updates? This thread is open. We are about to, proverbially, "Get this party started".
Wow, when I said we might need some more muscle, I wasn't expecting a minotaur. Welcome, Oscar.
My dwarf now feels a whole lot less manly also Manish the minotaur is hence forth what I shall call Oscar's character.

It's true, the new Minotaur would suddenly seem to "dwarf" everyone else's size, might, melee skills, and durability. But, trust me when I say, each & every PC is important in this. Everyone has key roles. The minotaur will probably help the party to overcome some situations involving strength and hand-to-hand combat. Like everyone he will contribute nicely to the motley-crew of unusual characters that populate the party.
