Before you ask. No, I'm not interested in starting a game. I'm only looking to play at the moment. Hello my fellow 20Rollers (is there a demonym for us, not sure). Anyway I wanted to drop a line and say that I’m looking to join a game, but not just any game. If there is a group playing any of the below rules set please consider me interested, if you’re looking for a player that is. I’m an old school gamer with a fairly steady schedule and a have a desire to join a long term game that will simulate the experience I had years ago when campaigns took years of investment. Also just in case you are thinking of asking at the moment I’m just interested in playing games, not running anything, so now you don’t need to ask. I’m looking for group playing any of the following editions of Dungeons and Dragons: Basic, Expert, Companion, Master, and Immortal, or Rules Cyclopedia, Basic Fantasy Role Playing, OSRIC, 1 st edition D&D, 2 nd Edition D&D. Basically anything pre-third edition. While I love the old school I'm also really enjoying the new 5th edition rules quite a bit. I've been in three campaigns and each time I find the rules a little more engaging. But I've still got a lot of love for the O ld S chool R evival stuff as well.  I’m interested in playing Savage Worlds and or FATE/FUDGE but depends on the setting but I’m really interested in playing something in those game systems. Superheroes are something else I’m interested in playing but not the Champions or anything with the HERO System. While I loved it as a youngster it has lost its appeal now. Don’t get me wrong I don’t have anything against the system, but it’s just not for me anymore. Star Wars either the old West End Games D6 version, or the SAGA edition I like them both for different reasons. Let's see what else do you need to know about me? I'm in the Central Time Zone -6 GMT. I'm a dedicated role player but I know my way around a combat situation when it comes to that. Overall I prefer a 50/50 split of drama to combat and I'd rather feel like a character in a story instead of a set of stats in the middle of an endless combat situation unless we are doing an "at war" kind of plot. I played the Mentzer BECMI rules back in when they were new and switched over to the Advanced rules when they came out. I'm a veteran of several campaigns/adventures and realize that play style, rules and dungeon master fiat are all equally important elements to the game. If you find yourself looking for a new player please feel free to contact me. Peace Here is a copy of my gaming resume’ 07/2018 DM of the Keep on the Borderlands Sandbox a 5e experiment still in the works.  01/2018 to 8/2018 Player in John C .'s (not the same guy as below) Night Below 2nd Edition, played Jorn Dwarven Fighter(Battle Axe master) dedicated to killing Drow, Orcs and anything else that got in his way.  05/2017 to Present Player in LeberMac 's Song of Soravia game. Well, gosh. It weren't nothin'. Oh and I like Tera Patrick too. She's very nice if you know what I mean.
I am willing to start play between the hours of 10PM-4AM EST or -5GMT if that helps. I'm sort of a night owl at heart.
Still looking. Anyone doing ICONS or the like?

I run a Gotham Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition game and a Savage World of Solomon Kane game. I'm an old time gamer as well that promotes long term campaigns with history and great gaming stories to tell. We stress roleplaying but run challenging combat scenarios. If you're interested then let me know.

Still got a slot for you in my latest 2E campaign. The time is on a weekday afternoon USA (weeknight UK times). I think we already checked and your availability didn't match the approximate time slot, but if that looks different at all now, hit me up. Story-heavy, 1/3 RP, 1/3 combat, 1/3 exploration, high magic, many Kits allowed, Book of Humanoids, PC's with intertwined motives, character development in the context of a homebrew world evolving as the campaign goes on, freecasting, specialist mages, Max HP at Level 1 & 2, good-natured PC's and evil enemies, global scale, epic fantasy, high fantasy style, 2nd Edition AD&D.
Hey Gold, Thanks for the invite buddy. It means a lot to have such an excellent game master be willing to take a chance. However, I have to decline again buddy, but perhaps somewhere in the future. We are still in the middle of the move but perhaps soon when it's all over. But don't keep a place for me I'm sure there are lots of others out there that would be a good fit for the game. Peace my man --Mike
No seriously, someone out there has to have an opening for an old schooler. I mean how rare are the old school games?
Normally, I run old school, like 2e, JB007, Twilight: 2K, Top Secret. But I'm doing LoTR, Cubicle 7's One Ring, and we are more than full, sorry. Great Resume, We tread much of the same dice ground. I never typed it out like that, though. I think i have a few more, but you have a lot I don't. I've never played Macho Women with Guns, or Psi world, for instance. Makes me want to go through the collection and get depressed recalling games from 1984 on in the Navy, and what fun they were before splatbooks. Good luck. The Old Schoolers are out here, but most of them are running half of your list, and most likely full, and many not looking in LFG. You might try (if you have not already) pining off of servers and DMs, and get on a waiting list. Beware a lot of the old school games are lumped into old school revival or other games, and are hard to find. This is why PF, 3.5 5E gets more play but I did get them to put Traveller and Gamma World in the list, by asking nicely.
Have you been approaching people who are posting their games on here? If you're not doing that, you might want to start.
I might have a spot open in a Tuesday night Dresden Files Fate game. It's not Fate Core, though I've wanted to do a homebrew version of Dresden Core. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I have a player that hasn't shown up for two games. He had a legitimate excuse the first time, but just didn't show up the 2nd time. I'm new to GMing, too. So... hopefully you'd have a good time. Z

Hey James, One day I was working on a resume' for a new job and I got just went off on a riff and made this. I need to update it a bit but it has the majority of what I've been playing over the decades. I"m sure that I've missed some one off games that I played at conventions and the like but it does give a good overview. Luckily I've been a part of some really good groups that were into experimental game systems and play styles. I'm not sure what you mean by " You might try (if you have not already) pining off of servers and DMs " could you be specific? The looking for group does leave something to be desired when it comes to specifics about older games. Over time it will improve with the help of people like you bringing the deficiencies to the attention of the moderators. Keep me in mind in the future bud. Peace --Mike

ah, mistyped. I mean just start looking for people running old school. But most of the people I know by name, their games are full.
