Marcors Not working

My Variables are not working at all. ive tryed creating macros in my settings. ive tryed creating abilities. ive followed the exact directions on https://wiki.roll20.net/Pathfinder for creating abilities using attributes. no matter what attribute i enter after the @ sign when i hit the roll icon it says "There was an error with your formula. Please try again." in the chat box. While it says that it rolls 1d20 which is what i want it to but it does nothing else the formula is suppose to make it do. if you can plz help. im trying to set up a campaign and altough this is not detrimental to it it would truly speed up game play and therefore the fun of playing.

so you have all the numbers set in your attributes, your formula set correctly, no other sheet with the same name? If the attributes and formula is set correctly but you have another sheet or more with the same name like character sheet and copy of character sheet, the macros will get confused and toss up an error similar if not exactly like you showed. I almost pulled my hair out trying to figure out what was happening and discovered that was the reason. None of my players edited their sheets yet to change the name of the sheet so it was all duplicated names and it confused the roller.
hmmmh i wonder if that is it. ill try changing that now,
awe man your a life saver. thank you. thats was the problem.

You are welcome and I'm glad I could help you. Best that one person goes through it and shares the knowledge then 100's of people and no knowledge is shared.
my thoughts exactly.
Alrigth so now that ive finished everything ive come across another problem. now when i select the Ability Macro to be used the dice roll on screen but nothing happens in the Chat window and the dice dont disappear? any sudgestions...
Turn off 3d Dice. Sometimes they "continue to roll" longer than you expect

JC, could you clarify what the problem is (a step by step example is great). From what I understood before, you were rolling 3d dice but getting no chat result. Now you are not using 3d dice and are still getting no chat result? - Gauss
yes. so ive created my ability macros based on my attributes. when i click on a ability with the 3d dice on the dice roll on screen but nothing happens in the chat window. i refreshed, same thing. when i click on an ability with 3d dice off nothing happens at all. i refreshed. same thing.
my abilities worked when first created up until i duplicated my generic character sheet in order to use the copy for my actually character. ive renamed it as metroknight said to do.

Ahhhh, now I understand. You may need to recreate the Attribute section of each Ability macro. Right now it might be referencing old attributes that do not apply to the duplicated character sheet. - Gauss Edit: After testing it seems that I cannot replicate this. Could you send me a join link? Id like to come take a look at your character sheets.

I never had the problem with the macros on the sheet after I renamed it so I don't know off hand.

The problem has been identified. The user had +# (where number is a value) in his Attributes. When used in an Ability that turns into a ++ which the dice roller does not like. :) Example: Attribute "Dex": +4 / 18 Ability "Initative": /r 1d20 +@{Dex} Expected output: /r 1d20 ++4 Result: no dice roll occurs. The same problem will occur if you have -- but not if you have +- Filing a bug report. - Gauss
