Clearing the Land

So I discussed the possibility of clearing the land in another thread, but I can't remember which one it was so this will be the repository for clearing of and constructing a fortress located on the island of Baalor. Since Baalor is being explored at the 1 mile hex scale, it would be unfair to make you guys roll for an encounter for each hex cleared. Normally you would just need to clear a single 5-mile hex, which usually involves a single encounter check. However since this is a dangerous island which is actively ruled by the Vampire Queen and her forces there should be greater difficulty. The compromise is that I will have you guys clear the different areas around the old pirate cove base. You will need to clear the mountains the base is located in, the bay area, the mountains across the bay, and the clear/plains southeast of the mountains. Each of these will require an encounter check to see if the area is cleared, and if there is an encounter you must defeat what is encountered to clear the hex. This seems far more realistic a prospect since each square is only a mile.
Can we get a ballpark of how much it may end up costing to actually fortify and renovate the cove? I mean if it's like 700k or something I don't think we could, but I mean, we probly have like 200-300k collectively.
Outdoor encounters! Bring your pets! We don't have to worry so much about the back splash from fireballs, lightning, et al. I can finally use Insect Plague since we will be above ground. Maybe even try Sticks to Snakes and/or Speak w/ plants. Let's prepare our sanctuary!
I'll finally be able to dimension door something 360 feet/yards directly up into the air!
Also, I'll likely be late tomorrow, plane isn't scheduled to touch down till 5pm and my flights through Dallas never don't get delayed so I'm not sure HOW late I'll end up being.
I will be late as well, kid has a concert that is starting at 7ish. No idea how late though.
