Starting a new dungeons and dragons 3.5 campaign

First of all I would like to assure that I am not a power hungry worship me DM. It is my hope that everyone that is in this group (including me) become friends. I do like rules, but it does not take much to convince me to bend them. Having fun is the number one priority. For example, if your fighter wants to do a crazy drop attack onto a group of goblins, go for it! Creativity will be rewarded not stifled (if you succeed your check that is). This will be a very difficult game. Some of you will die. (When you make a new character you will be able to start at the party's level). This adds a sense of urgency to combat and makes you be more careful/help your teamates. ROLEPLAYING. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of this campaign. In this campaign, the story will revolve the characters and their goals. There will be no munchkining. Roleplaying your character will always be more important than combat effectiveness. Joining the game: Leave a topic on this page requesting to join. Make an account and character on http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetindex.php. Leave a link to your character in the topic. Also post your experience and what type of player you are. Creating a character: All players will start out at level 6. 28 Point-buy system. 15000 Gold. Almost anything is fair game as long as it is in the core books (no homebrew). I will review your sheets and let you know if you did something wrong or if I have a problem with something. Make sure you include your backstory, personality, character traits, and character goals somewhere on the sheet (there are good places on the bottom) We will meet weekly and meeting time could possibly change if something works better for the group. If you have absolutely any questions at all let me know!
Well now, this looks interesting. Count me in. I like campains that are difficult but not imposable. I have a feeling that I should make up a character quickly, but my first thought goes to Cleric as a party backbone. (And for someone for everyone to complain too when we inevitably die xD) Consept: A Cleric of Boccob......who is an extreamly stupid Half-Orc. Takes the Magic domain, but dosen't entirely understand what he's doing. Occatinaly has moments of clarity (Because high wisdom) but fails to understand the most basic of Cleric-y tasks. Other clerics remain shocked at how such a stupid orc has such a strong connection to Boccob. (I'm a current GM myself, so I understand how awesome RP is. Got a good 6+ years in both 3.5 and Pathfinder, so I dun like min-max as the next guy. ) (Sheet goes here when I'm done) That'll take me a while to make, I'm shure.
Awesome! Yea it's probably a good idea to reserve a spot since I will probably give preference to the first ones that post. Would you mind posting this here though? Much easier to keep track of everything when it's all in one place.
Will do
This sounds like a game that I could get into! I definitely love the roleplaying aspect of RPGs as long as the group can tell a good story. I am currently rolling up an Elf Illusionist. He is quite pretentious. Has a love of languages, but refuses to speak languages that are dirty (i.e. orc, goblin...). I will reply again when I am finished with his character sheet. I have a bit of experience with the Pathfinder system (glad its online). I have experience with 3 versions of D&D, Star Wars, Dresden Files, and Rifts. While I love a good fight, I love a good story more. I am a huge fan of creative encounters. Hope you would like to include me!
I have one major question. Do you know what day and time your looking into playing? Hate to go through everything and find out it's only on the days I work that everyone is available.
Sorry but we don't yet but will know by next week.
Hello, my name is Cameron Felty, I'd be interesting in joining your campaign as I'm quite experienced with 3.5 and your post definitely Intrigues me. I'm comfortable playing any role in the party so what I have here is just one example of a character I could make if necessary I could make any other character. I like the idea of roleplaying is more important then combat. I'm the type of player that welcomes challenges, isn't afraid to face the death of a character, and what the DM says goes. It is your game afterall. Also I tend to be a team player. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=570886 Also I have skype if you're looking to contact me that way. CroakerTC is my skype. Thanks for your time, hope you pick me!
Count me in good sir Ill finsh a MW sheet ASAP
Hello I'd love to join this game. I'm working on a Druid, I will post it on here when finished. I have about 7 years of DnD/PF experience combined from 2ed to PF as well as other games not in the d20 realm. I have been DMing as well as playing for all of those.
I am with Johnathan I am interested but if it is at a time that I work or am otherwise unavailabale I would hate to have a character go to waste (though I guess I can just use them somewhere else). My current Idea is for a ranger/scout (if that slot is still available).
Hello again Mitchell! Also, Hey Tate! I would be down to join, if there is room. I can make any type of character, but learn towards something fun and obscure. I'll come up with a character sometime soon and put it here when I get a chance. In the meantime, let me know if there is room, otherwise I'll get invested for nothing. As for my experience, I have a lot of 3.5 experience, I know the system inside and out. I have played in four 3.5 campaigns and am currently in one. As for the type of player I am....hmmm...I would say just about anything, although I favor out of combat builds. I like the social and RP side of the game, but throughout enjoy combat. Hit me up if you need another experienced player. Edit - Here is the skeleton of a Knife Thrower build that I would love to play. I have always wanted to play a weapon thrower, but have never been able to. Knife-Thrower
Heres my sheet He's an Elf Force Mage. I'm still constructing his back-story but his main motivation is to learn how to control the wild magic within him.
Please refer to this link guys. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/159406/if-you-want-to-play/#post-160483
Hi Mitchell, I would like to be considered if a spot is still available but there are some caveats. Firstly I haven't had the chance to play D&D in quite some time. Years in fact and i'm not very familiar with 3.5 system (I played a lot of 2nd edition), but very much want to get back into playing. So I guess mainly I need to be sure with you this will not be an issue. I'll do everything to get up to speed but I want to be as up front as possible. My first thought would be to put together a sheet for a Gnome Illusionist which I very much want to try. I can work on this, but want to make sure the fact that i'm not over familiar with the system will not be an issue and a spot is open. the 2nd thing is just scheduling. I just wanted to get an idea when you wanted to meet to be sure my schedule will work. I can manage most times but with wife and kids I just want to be sure I can commit. usually anything at night is fine. I'll work on a sheet in the meantime.
Hi Mitchell, If you are still looking for additional players I'd love to be considered. A little about me, I am a player of several years and currently DMing a game that meets on Fri/Sun Nights and playing IRL one that meets on Saturdays. However my scheduling is very flexible and if I say I'll be there you better believe I'll be online and ready. (I know how frustrating it can be to coordinate schedules and have no problem being the group liason for such situations). I can also play any type of character the group will need to round off its party and have 13+ years experience in creating detailed character stories so roleplay will not suffer. As far as what type of player I am in game, I'm often the outspoken one and if the character permits and the group doesn't already have a voice then stepping up and taking charge isn't an issue for me. Please let me know if there's a spot available and what kind of times you are considering. Thanks for reading! -Dever
