Expanding on this , sort of Hello there all. I am going to start by saying that I do not know how easy/hard this would be to implement and propose it quite selfishly as I doubt many of you are using a setup similar to mine. For starts, I don't use maps very often, but recently have been "doodling" them in some cases which has worked fine. It is when I need to get -rid- of the maps a problem comes into play. See, we have a sort of "HUD" in play. Along the side of the play board are pictures to give some atmosphere, along the bottom are character portraits and stat blocks to have things at hand without flipping across every darn character sheet when I need to do sneaky rolls (hellllooo passive perception). Now, I have these on the Object/Token layer as... well the Grid kind of stops the tokens from doing their job, and the border on the map layer loses a good deal of its charm on the Map Layer. Now, we have done this in another campaign where I simply turned the grid off, which would be fine and all, but even then there are times when I want something on the object layer visually, but not in fear of drag-drop selecting it when I'm cleaning things up. Long story short; What I propose is a simple(relative) added to the Right Click selection (As GM only) that locks an object from being targeted by selection until right clicked and turned off. For the most part this wouldn't be needed if a 2nd graphical layer is added, so it is a matter of which is easier. I'll just... sneak away now.
