Pathfinder (minor 3.5) campaign to start. Tuesday 2 PM MTN

Hey all! I am looking to start DMing a new campaign. I will get the basics out, when interest is seen I will throw out more world detail. It will be a Pathfinder dominant game, but I will bring in 3.5 content from time to time just to spice things up. Unfortunately, I’ll likely disallow players from using any 3.5 content. I promise it to be mainly for flare, but also to help push story as PF simply does not have the content (or license) or some of the great D&D content. (There is an obvious lack of Beholders, due to trademarking, I believe) About me -I am a college student, meaning during finals and midterms week we MIGHT take a break. -I like to be a prepared GM. Make maps, encounters, social opportunities but I also like to be open to the party going off the path. -I make overarching stories that are to be followed…eventually. This means you can nearly always take off on side quests and stuff I’ve not planned at all, just do not expect custom made maps for spur of the moment scenes, -I run games on XP. -I prefer serious players who will invest themselves in their character. You don’t have to make a special voice, but you certainly can if you want! What I WANT is that you talk in character, “Hey, you think I could bag me that bar made?” Fred said to Steve, instead of, “Fred would like to seduce the bar made…I rolled a 19. What happens?” -I often roll your perception, will saves and fort saves at times that you would not know something is happening beforehand. Meaning I’ll let you know if there is a trap, or if you suddenly feel weaker after that snake bit you. About the game -You can craft, but I follow the crafting rules pretty tight, meaning crafting while adventuring is pretty damn slow. -Session will be 2.5-4.5 hours, varying each week. Please only apply if you are okay with short times AND long times. 4.5 will be a rarity, but the average will probably be 3.5-4 hour sessions. -Rolls are fun, but if you RP right you can trump…or at least not be destroyed by a bad roll. This is heavily true in the conversational skills like diplomacy and bluff. What I want in a player -I want someone who is here to play for the long haul. I want to take this to 17-20, meaning the game could last over a year, going on weekly play. I understand life happens, but try to only apply if you really WANT to stay in a long game, knowing it can have times that are not as fun as others. Like a book or movie, a game will have its slow times. -People who will work together, not for each other. Meaning, if you have a wizard…let him be the wizard. No reason for the person playing the fighter should say, “maybe you should use detect magic.” If the fighter knows nearly nothing of magic. If a player forgets what his role can do….then the character also forgot. No one is perfect and the game should reflect that. Let’s make this old school! Lastly (this is kind of a test) -I want people who have read all of this text. It’s a lot/not a lot but it shows a DM a decent amount when people are willing to read a body of text before replying. If you can/want to play on one of these days at the indicated time, let me know. I want to know THREE:3:III (get the pun?) that you would be open to playing. We will have a group meeting (Skype is a must) and build the party from there. I don’t want to see someone forced into a role, be what is fun EVEN if it makes things harder. Btw, if you ARE lacking a role it will not change how I approach the game. No rogue does not mean no traps, nor does no healer mean less aggressive combat. So looking for those types of players as well. No summoners, gunslingers (or guns at all). Other classes may be said no to, but case-by-case. No Third party either, sorry. I also have specific rules for alchemist’s bombs, as the book doesn’t clarify enough on certain things. We will talk about that IF someone wants to be one. No evil, but evil prestige classes might be allowed if we can figure out a logical way to say why you would be this WITHOUT being evil. More detail will be spoken of for those who join, but I promise to do my best (6 years’ experience as a DM) to provide all you and myself an enjoyable game. Lastly (again) please do not bombard me with Private Messages. Leave that for later when I make an actual game to apply to. This is simply an interest poll post. -Soulkrist https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/21479/ridgegate-awaits

Just a couple hours too early for me... Too bad. It looks like it'll be a great campaign. Good luck!
It is at a strange time. Sorry that excludes you. It's revolved around my new schedule that I'm getting used to.
Ach! Tuesdays! My one weakness! It looks like it'll be a fun game, shame I can't join.
That's 1PM for my and Tuesday is perfect as no classes(don't you just love college?). I have a lot of experience with Pathfinder(new hybrid classes not being counted) so I say sign me up.
I have recruited my 5th player. Sorry to anyone who wanted to join but could not. Best of luck to you all! -Soulkirst
