Greetings, What I'm Looking For: I'm currently looking for 1 or 2 more players to join myself and a couple of friends for a weekly game of Torchbearer. This will be a new game with a new group. No experience the the system or even RPGs necessary. All that is required is the ability to be creative, work well with a group (in and out of game, preferably), and have fun! Who Am I?: I'm Derick, a 23 year old guy from Tennessee. I love RPGs. I love playing them, I love watching them. I love thinking about them. I, however, have no prior experience with GMing. But I have been studding a lot in preparation for running my first game. I've been reading blog, watching play sessions and listening to RPG podcasts and video series for a couple of months in preparation for starting my own game. I'm sure there will be some bumps in the road along the way as I learn how to GM and how to work with our group, but I do hope you'll join me for that journey! What is/Why Torchbearer?: I purchased and began reading Torchbearer at the suggestion of Adam Koebel, GM of RollPlay: Swan Song & RollPlay:Mirrorshades (<a href="http://Twitch.tv/ItmeJP" rel="nofollow">http://Twitch.tv/ItmeJP</a> ) and co-author of Dungeon World. I have since read through the entire book and was struck by how well defined and beautifully designed the game is. If you are not familiar with Torchbearer, it is a game about exploring ancient ruins and dungeons because you have no other options. It is "a love-letter to Basic D&D." The game is laser focused on the struggles and hardships of trudging your way through a dangerous dungeon in search of loot.
