Seeking players for a new Ravenloft game. (DnD 3.5, sundays USCentral time 12pm to 6pm)

(3.5) Ravenloft, seeking players Hello folks, I am interested in running the 3.5 Ravenloft module, and am looking for ideally 4 but at a maximum 5 players to participate. Here are some key facts before you read the B16 DnD 3.5 is the system Games will be conducted on Roll20 Games will happen on Sundays 12:00pm US Central Time to 6:00pm US Central Time Please use this thread to post your character sheet, link the mythweavers page. You may use the notes section on your mythweavers page for a backstory, but as this an adventure module with a prewritten development, your personal motives and history shouldn't preclue your character from participating. Don't go overboard. I will review posted characters over the course of 1 week. Characters invited to the game will receive a private message from me informing them that they have been accepted by next Friday. I intend for this game to encompass the Ravenloft module but no more.  The campaign can't take longer than 4 months. Use a 32 point buy for character creation, you may roll hit points (but taking max at first) or take 75% of your max. As a special note, I can't accept highly optimized characters into this campaign, as the provided module material is not tuned for it. THE BIG 16 1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)? DnD 3.5 2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)? The Expedition to Castle Ravenloft module. 3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many? 4, possibly 5 4. What's the gaming medium? Roll20 5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)? Level 6 6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? Standard wealth by level applies, since you start at level 6 thats 13000 gp with no single item worth more 25% of that. 7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes? No Homebrew, No 3rd Party, no Dragon Magazine. 8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Only Core races, Eberron Races, Racial variants from Unearthed Arcana, Races and variants from Players Handbook 2, and races introduced in Races of Stone, Races of Destiny, Races of the Wild . 9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points? 75% of your maximum possible hp, or follow the standard rules for rolling. 10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so? Good characters will get more out of this adventure, evil characters are still viable, however, but expect to encounter a lot of brutal and horrific evil in the game. If that doesn't compel your character to act, then you should have another good reason to be here. 11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it? Multiclassing is allowed as normal for 3.5 (penalties in effect for characters that incure them) 12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them? Roll20 has a program to handle this and if you are not familiar with it, its easy to learn. 13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules. There are no applicable variant rules in play at this time. We will not be using taint rules. 14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)? Keep it to a paragraph , and keep in mind the adventure begins with you already enroute to the land Barovia with the other adventurers. Your motives for adventuring are your own, of course. 15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above? Even mix. 16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters? Keep it WoTC authored books. No dragon magazine, no 3rd party, no homebrew, no pathfinder.  No Faerun, Forgotten Realms material, or any other setting specific material allowed.  All characters are subject to DM approval Just as a final note, reading the campaign module will ruin the fun so don't do it!
Hey there, I am interested and will be posting when I get off. Just wanted to let you know your ad has been seen and there are people interested! Hope to talk to you soon. Edit: Claiming Cleric and working on the sheet right now.
Cool, send me a pm if you want to discuss anything, looking forward to the character.
Bumping for need.

I could play either one of them based on the party's need.
Would an Artificer be allowed? Here's my Artificer <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=557051" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=557051</a>
Hey Guys! I've talked to Harvey and this has been approved I believe. Just so you know what you'll be grouping with. I got da heals. <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=161737" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=161737</a> &nbsp;

I could play either one of them based on the party's need. Either works fine.&nbsp; If the rest of the party so far is the artificer and caster-cleric, you may be best off going with the fighter and tanking up front.&nbsp; You have a modest sum of gold to work with as well if you want to invest in magic armor. Tate said: Would an Artificer be allowed? Hells to the yeah i want to craft some stuff! Just to check how much EXP do we have exactly? Just enough to be level 6? Will i need to do any rolls?
Tate said: Hells to the yeah i want to craft some stuff! Just to check how much EXP do we have exactly? Just enough to be level 6? Yes, your actual experience is 15,000.&nbsp; Lets say you have xp to work with for craft purposes equal to halfway to the next level. In your case, thats 0.5x(21,000 - 15,000) = 3000 xp.&nbsp; Of course, if you don't spend this xp on crafting or if you have xp leftover after crafting, you don't get to keep it.&nbsp;&nbsp; No single item may be worth more than 3250 gp.&nbsp; This rule is in effect for everyone.&nbsp; It also applies to crafted items.&nbsp; Not the cost to create them, but their total value. For example, +2 Hide Armor is worth 4015 gp, and costs 2007 gp and 5 sp to craft.&nbsp;&nbsp; Since the item is worth more than 3333 gp, it is too expensive for you to craft. You still only have to actually pay the item creation cost for items you craft.&nbsp; So if you were crafting a +1 Mithril Chain Shirt, which is worth 2100 gp, you would only subtract 1050 gp from your character wealth for the cost of the item (and pay 84 xp from your crafting budget of 3000). You may spend up to half your wealth on crafting, (6500 gp).&nbsp; This is not bonus gold for crafting, it comes from your total budget of 13000 gp.
My Cleric will buy that Mithril Shirt from you 1500g :D
I would like to play Elf wizard <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=575268" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=575268</a> &nbsp; Will Keep updating as it gets built &nbsp;
Very well, I will update my Human Fighter, so he needs to be level 6 and has how much gold to work with? I know no single item can be more then 3250g but how much do we have total?
@Kinsume &nbsp; 6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? Standard wealth by level applies, since you start at level 6 thats 13000 gp with no single item worth more 25% of that.
I see, thank you very much I must have over-read that. :P Edit : I'm currently looking at the wiki for d&amp;d at the enchanted weapons/armor, with the most a single item can cost being 3250 and this chart saying a +1 on my sword is 2,000 while +2 is 8,000 is it safe to assume I won't be getting anything higher than +1 for my gear?
I love to play as a Rogue. I have a character I can update really quickly and would love to find a group to play with.

Neverwmind I see it in the private message link.
I have sent out 5 invitations.&nbsp; The party make up looks to be, Fighter, Wizard, Cleric, Rogue, Artificer .&nbsp; I will not accept further applications until someone drops out. The next step will be a thread on the game board to address individual characters and make sure they are ready for Sunday.&nbsp; More on that later.&nbsp; I will also try to post a general list of commonly desired magical items in the game board, in Enkits thread.&nbsp; If you are unfamiliar with magic items in DnD 3.5, you may want to acquire the Magic Item Compendium as it is an excellent resource for items.&nbsp; It exists in pdf and hard copy form.&nbsp; I can not share a pdf, however.
Oh man, I wuld love to join. Longing to play for a while now but unable to find a group. I am a experienced player, maybe not the best role player, but I enjoy it and always trying my best to play my character. I tend to enjoy warrior/fighter classes. If you wuld have me I wuld love to play a Wild&nbsp;elf wolf&nbsp;totem barbaria, with 2 lvls in fighter.... And now when I wrote that I see your full, awh shit. edited: erh, almost looks like i calling you full of shit, that was not my intentions.&nbsp;
Apparently our Rogue is dropping out due to not being able to make it on Sunday.
Mossa I sent you a message about the rogue.
I think we agreed that our artificer has enough search + disable device to handle our trap finding/removing needs. I personally think we could use a Ranger, but a Barbarian, Paladin or Monk would work as well.
some one who hits thiings very hard would be useful
Highly interested! I have always wanted to play ravenloft, &nbsp;Here i got a Duskblade was never able to use, of course i will update it to the proper level if you let me join! (also i wanted to make it exalted, but i dont know if that fits your playstyle) <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=569014" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=569014</a>
Oh, I wuld love to play my Barbarian :) . If a rogue is realy needed I can play that. Here is my barbarian. I went for what I think is cool, so she might be realy bad or good, I never good at optimising. "not finnished" <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=575461" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=575461</a> I might change it to a Ranger/Barbarian... Realy wuld like&nbsp;a wolf companion hehe... So, 6 lvls ranger then switch to Barbarian.. Or something like that. Edit: Changed race to Wood Elf
Just get us some DPS I'll take care of heals &gt;:D
Would prefer a Ranger as we kinda need an archer.
Started to work on archer type character. If I like it enough maybe I want to play it instead of my two-weapon thingy.
Nevermind about the archer thing, I just ditched my throwing spear for a composite longbow on my fighter and added a couple archery feats for when its needed. You can stick to your barbarian if you'd like, but I'm not entirely sure how harvey handles multi-classing so be careful with the ranger/barb multi idea.
Hehehe, and all I come up with are multi-class characters. This archer wuld be a ranger/scout, backstory "Undead Hunter" armed with a&nbsp;light crossbow thingy.
GD my noobhood this is the very reason i am trying to get into this stuff
He might allow core class multis like your Ranger/Barb, so you might be ok.
Michael R. said: GD my noobhood this is the very reason i am trying to get into this stuff Huh?
I have never played or done this stuff before. But Ravenloft is the very reason I am trying to play this. Seems freaking awesome, though since I have no xp in this realm of wonderous shenanigans I wouldn't make the cut (Indian tear drops)
I have no issue with multiclassing.&nbsp; Make sure you familiarize yourself with how the rules for it work though.
Yeah, thats why I switched to Wood Elf so my favorit class is ranger. A minor bump in character creation but&nbsp;I think I managed to solve it. Well, i am fine with playing ither my Archer or Two-Handed character as my archer become intresting to me... However, archer is armed with light crossbow that I cant do much about 'cos it looks freaking awesome' and I dont know if thats enough range for a archer kinda character. But im fine playing any of them. Can have the other as backup if the unspeakeble horrow of death with no return emerges.
