GM looking for players... Pathfinder... Thursdays 11 am Pacific time

Hi! my name is Bart. I have quite a few years of experience with D&D 3.5, but I have not played in a number of years. This site looks promising, and I would like to join a low level group to check it out. (I need a low level to work the kinks out.) Alternatively, I have uploaded everything I need to GM a simple Level 1-2 game if there are players who would like to try this out (while being patient with me). I am a 46 year old male from Canada. I am available July and August, on weekdays, from 8:00 am to about 6:00 pm, Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). If you don't have the Pathfinder book (I actually found mine old D&D books in storage), I will be using the Pathfinder PRD (<a href="http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/" rel="nofollow">http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/</a>). If you are unsure about character creation, I can try to help with that too. I found PCGen quite helpful (<a href="http://pcgen.sourceforge.net/01_overview.php" rel="nofollow">http://pcgen.sourceforge.net/01_overview.php</a>), but that is best with D&D. Any suggestions for Pathfinder character generators? I miss playing RPGs, and I seem to have some time on my hands. This site shows promise. I hope to have some fun.
You say D&D 3.5, but refer to the Pathfinder PRD. My impression was that the systems had the same structure but different specifics. That being said, I have been keeping tabs of some players looking for a GM and would be glad to wrangle some other players together. I'm also new, so starting at level 1 would not be a problem. I am available to play next week, either Wednesday or Thursday (25th or 26th). I am in the PST and could play during your hours. Let me know if you'd like me to gather some people up!
I would be down to play on Thursday I'm free all day.
Thursday looks like a go then. What time can you both start? I can around 8:00 am or until 6:00 pm Pacific.
Anytime on Thursday is cool with me I am free the whole day.
OK... Ignore the thing about D&D 3.5. I was confused. I want to use Pathfinder RPG rules.
Alright I just bought the Pathfinder beginners box so I'm fairly new but willing to learn is that gonna be a problem?
Not at all, Jayce. I am very much a beginner too. I have read most of the on-line Pathfinder core rulebook, but I think I will try to find an actual book before Thursday. Jayce & Johnny -- What are your thoughts on character creation? Do you want to come to the game on Thursday with Level 1 characters pre-made? Do you want to spend time on Thursday making characters (not my preference)? Do you want to chat between now and Thursday about characters? I can open up the mini-module I made here if we want to chat there.
any room for another? i would love to learn how to use this system while playing.
I found this site which seems pretty good... <a href="http://venturecaptain.com/Character.aspx" rel="nofollow">http://venturecaptain.com/Character.aspx</a>
This is great for beginner's creating characters. <a href="http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm</a>
I would definitely like to have characters created before Thursday so we can start playing. I'm fine with character creation, I'm just not sure what to do about starting gear. Weapons and armor are easy, but what about all the other stuff? Does it just depend on the campaign? Also, are we doing a point-buy? Or are we rolling stats. If we're rolling stats, we could do a quick online rolling session (so people don't cheat) or just trust each other. I don't really have a preference. As for time on Thursday, how does 11am sound?
OK... I changed my mind. I think the "Hero Labs: Pathfinder Beginner Box" character generator is better. It does not have all the classes and races, and it only goes up to level 5, but it is very easy to use.
Johnny -- This is just a "get to know it" mini module. I see it going 2 or maybe 3 sessions. I think we should be able to trust each other to create a legal character. I am used to using... 4d6 + re=roll ones + use best three dice Can we say roll three sets of ability scores that way and choose your favourite of the three?
I can try to make my character before thursday but I may need a little help lol.
So far we have the following confirmed... 11:00 am PDT on Thursdays Me as GM Players: Jayce, Johnny (with maybe some friends), and maybe Joshua I have a basic module (I sent all of you the link) that will last for 2 or maybe 3 sessions (depending on how long we go) , and we can assess from there. The module not very complicated, but will serve well to learn the system. There's a forest. There's a village. There's a dungeon.
Alright cool. I didn't get the link though?
I sent you a message with it. If I put it here I think anyone could join.
Did you get the messages????
I will try to send the link via message on here.
I would love to join if you'll give me a chance!
Sure! But so far I cannot figure out how to invite you.
Is there still a place left for me? I would love to play a bit of pathfinder but havn't been able to find a game since my last group fell apart.
I am here for the next few hours. The game starts on Thursday at 11:00 am Pacific
If you have any questions, please message me.
I am only accepting characters from Pathfinder Core Rulebook and Advanced Player's Guide. IM me for the link to the virtual desktop.
There seems to be room, yes.
Sure. Do you have a Level 1 character?
OK. I would like to take a look at your character before we play. We are meeting Thursday at 11:00 am Pacific.
are we using the pathfinder Advanced player guide as well?
I run a pathfinder game on Thursday, but i would like to play as a character and not a DM, any chance that you can also run a game on Wednesday? I am on CST, located in South America. I can put together a lvl 1 character easily. Also here are two links to pathfinder stuff: <a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/" rel="nofollow">http://www.d20pfsrd.com/</a> <a href="http://mcarchetype.wikispaces.com/Core+Multiclass+Archetype+List" rel="nofollow">http://mcarchetype.wikispaces.com/Core+Multiclass+Archetype+List</a> The first is the Pathfinder rules. It includes things like classes, races, feats, equipment, spells, and a lot of useful information. It also provides some 3rd party publications usable with Pathfinder. The second link is a set of classes that combine two classes into one. These are done thru a group of people that follow pathfinder and almost everything is pathfinder compatible. A lot of nice class combos. Hope to hear from you and Good Gaming to you all.
If you are not full, i would like to join in. New player, fast learner though.
I would love to play a game of Pathfinders, I own the core rulebook and have done some additional research online but sadly i've never played a game of it. I have some backup ideas for PC's but the one i'm really dying to try out is Knob the Goblin Samurai! My thursdays are free unless something comes up so I should be good for regular session.
Just wondering if there is any word on a potential Wednesday game? I am busy on Thursday and you seem to have a large number of people interested, maybe you can run a game on Wednesday and Thursday? That way you can keep your groups at a manageable size (3 - 5). Just a thought, I really would not mind playing as a PC instead of a GM.
Does anyone still want to play???
I NEEED one more player now!!! :-((
I gave up. Nevermind
