Unable to send Private Messages

Every time I try to type in the recipients username in the recipients box I keep getting this error popup in my browser. "The page at <a href="https://app.roll20.net" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net</a> says: Please try again, if you continue to receive this error, please contact support." If I could get somehelp with this that would be great.

Hi Xig, your best bet is to contact <a href="mailto:Team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">Team@roll20.net</a> as the error message suggests :) Good luck
Ah thanks. Didn't know they had an Email; couldn't find it.

Hi Xig, can you provide a screen shot of what you're seeing. Can you also provide a console log ?

It looks like from the error log that your browser or a third party process is blocking the code that makes PMing work. please follow Steps 1-3, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.
Would you like me to create a new thread for step 4? or put the Bug report in this thread?

I tried it again in Firefox and I got the same issue. I tried disabling all of my addons on chrome(which is my main browser) and while it was working temporarily for a few seconds I still kept getting the error message. Disabling my anti virus programs did not work either. Clearing the Cache also didn't help the issue. So here is the issue in a bit more detail. I am trying to make a new thread of private messages to a friend of mine. When I press the "new private message button" and I begin to type in the recipients name or any name for that matter in the recipient box it will begin to search for the person to send to. At that point I get this error: <a href="http://gyazo.com/ec8381e2ead37bbdede5772084ebee23" rel="nofollow">http://gyazo.com/ec8381e2ead37bbdede5772084ebee23</a> this happens regardless of which browser I am using, whether I have any addons disabled or enabled, and whether or not I have any anti viruses on or off. Here was what I was doing step by step. 1. I went to my account name at the top right of the screen and left clicked on it and on the drop down menu I clicked private messages. 2. Once on that page I clicked the blue "New Private Message" button 3. Once the GUI popped up to send my message I typed in the recipient's name and was waiting for the drop down menu to choose his show his name in the dropdown so I could click on it 4. Once it begins to search, this happens: <a href="http://gyazo.com/ba0d9a3a03203ac9116d065f8f7861a6" rel="nofollow">http://gyazo.com/ba0d9a3a03203ac9116d065f8f7861a6</a> Here is the console log from when the error pops up with no addons in the background: <a href="http://i.gyazo.com/f808ad4532eec31b1dfb29f6348301af.png" rel="nofollow">http://i.gyazo.com/f808ad4532eec31b1dfb29f6348301af.png</a> I am using Google Chrome with these addons enabled(I also tried with these disabled but I continued to get the error.): Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Hangouts, Kaspersky Protection, Magic Actions for Youtube, reddit companion, Terms of Service: Didn't Read, Twitch Now. I have Windows 8.1 as my OS and I use Kaspersky Internet Security, aswell as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. However I disabled those two anti viruses and tried to send a private message and I still have the issue.

Do you have the ability to check if it's a router firewall issue? Maybe try from a different computer or device on the same network connection?

If it's not an issue with the computer that narrows down what the source of the conflict could be if it's effecting all the devices on your network. It could either be your router preventing the JS from running or your ISP. I know it's not an ideal test but if you have the ability to check your laptop on a different internet connection or through a different router that might give us more information for where the disruption is happening.
Unfortunately I am unable to do a test like that. Only one router in the house, and my main computer is hooked up to the main internet line by wire.

I think we've found the problem. This might seem strange, but as a work around can you try typing very slowly and see if that makes a difference?
Heh, just tried it and it seems to be working now.
