Blocked line of Sight - Can I show map layer, but not token layer?

Hi! I'm new to Roll20 and working on my first campaign in it. I'm working with dynamic lighting and currently building an outdoor terrain. I have some objects that completely block line of sight, and others that obscure it. Since my characters are "familiar" with the area I don't want to hide the map from them behind the obscurement (or even the objects), but I would like to hide the tokens. Is there a way for blocking objects to just hide items on the token layer so they can still see the map? Secondarily, is there a way to have objects "obscure" sight, say reduce light to dim past the object. I'm using Global Illumination on this map. Thanks!
My question is nearly the same, so I will tag it to the end of this one... immusing fog fog of war and line of sight, but when a character moves, areas which have already been revealed become hidden again, ie only what is in their line of sight remains visible. what I was hoping for was that line of sight would reveal the map from under the fog of war and also any icons on the icons layer, but then if the character moves out of line of sight, the revealed area would still be visible, as they now know what the area looks like, but anything on the icons layer (ie emeny) would once again become hidden as that stuff can be moving around out of their sight. am I setting up,wrong, or isn't it currently possible?

I would suggest moving tokens to the GM layer if you don't want them to be seen. As player's move around the map, move the token's they can see to the token layer. Currently LOS is all or nothing, so "obscuring" sight isn't really an option. There is a suggestion for Adjustable Global Illumination

Something like Dynamic Lighting integrated with Fog of War (Warcraft 2 style) ? You could drop a trail of light tokens, controlled by the player(s) that emit light, "all players see light" and "has sight". You can place them on the DL layer to keep them out of the way.
