Brand new to the scene

To keep it short, I'm a new player and I'm looking to join a campaign. I've never played a tabletop RPG but I've played many by way of video games. Long version... Hello everyone. RPG's are my favorite type of game to play but the only ones I've played are via video games over the years. From Zelda in the late 80's to Skyrim, I've gotten lost in the games and lost days at a time playing them. I've never been fortunate enough to be a part of a tabletop RPG and am looking to see how it is. I've been watching some games on YouTube over the past few weeks and have been looking over the 5e Players Handbook. It's the only place I've thought to start so...I have an idea of how the progression of the game works but I'm gonna be fuzzy on a few things just starting out. I'm looking into joining in a campaign for new players and I'm thinking a one-shot game is a good first game. I will keep searching for Campaigns to join while I work on a character and hope to meet some of you soon.
Are you limited to fantasy? I'm constantly trying to assemble a group for a Dark Conspiracy game. It is a near-future horror game. I have been given special access to the character creation and some gear sections for the purposes of assembling a group, so you wouldn't need to buy anything, though the current edition rule book is pretty cheap on PDF if you did enjoy things. I might just have to put together a one-shot to build further interest... Anyway, you can check out some details here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/21609/shadows-o...

As with Dickie, if you're not just limited to fantasy, i'm running a Post Apocalypse setting game that could use another player or two. i'm fine teaching new people as well. It's very over the top and gonzo, but also can be lethal (character death can and most likely will happen) Details for the game: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/18084/the-mutan...
Hi Robert! My group is looking for a player for our weekly 3.5 game, and we're happy to bring in a new player.
