Foreword: I should just leave Blue to do these write ups. Jessica S.: BAsically A salarian ran up WAs like 'yo here datapad' and then we took it and read it and was like 'it says eclipse wants weapon shipment' and then we took it and drag was gonna run off but i am making roll no w so one momento -- Blue, Session 6, 01.03.15 Seriously, you're gonna run me out of a job. Shopping Trip and Under(ish)whelming Force (Session 6) IN THIS SESSION: We move to the Supporter Account, earning us Premium Features, including the stunning Dynamic Lighting, and even public forums! Teyra has to come down from the ceiling. This comes after the depression of the Grand Adept Nerf. The party goes shopping! FOR A GODDAM HOUR. Nific is surprisingly amicable with a Blue Suns recruiter. Nific scares off the descendent of that kid from the Archangel mission in ME2. The DERP's first officially planned roll nearly destroys everything. Party is contacted by an Eclipse Courier. (See Blue's wonderful summary) Party are requested to deal with United Fruit 'Limbsplitter Fruit Shipments'. Who, for the record, are totally a real fruit company... They squabble for a bit, then go do the Blue Suns quest. ATTENDING: (CUSTOM TOKENS, WOOP!) Teyra (Blue) - Floor-Bloob Adept. Nific (Dragoo) - Safety Krogan Soldier. Outcast (Reaper) - Geth Soldier with some serious problems. And me, Bleak, the GM. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome back, one and all, to the wonderful world(s) of Ruins & Rachni! For those of you on MEU, its been a while! This
week, the party was sliced in half for several reasons, and there was
debate about whether or not play should continue for the week.
Eventually, we cut our losses and I gave the party a saving grace for
the session - if things started to cut it too close, we could give up
and wait for a bigger party. Not that that ever happened, pfft.
So yeah, in this session, the party have just returned from looting a
gravity-less space wreckage and getting tons of useless stuff. Except
for the credits, obviously, of which there were a lot. Anyway, back on
Omega, the party have been introduced to the wonders of Dynamic
Lighting, in all its beauty. I'm not going to explain it here. While
down here, Teyra engages in some shopping, buying some Shock Braces
(Think Long-Fall Boots) and a Laser Cutter. Why she would need these, I
do not know. Our feckless party were then made aware of a
Turian, dressed in full Blue Suns equipment, minus a helmet, being
pestered by a kid who thinks he's all that, just because he's got some
crappy pistol. Seeing as this family line has obviously not learned its
lesson after its encounter with Shepard, Nific steps in and scares him
off. "This guy giving you trouble?" "You have no idea." Nific
turns to the kid, and simply stares at him. Rolling high on intimidate,
the kid scrams as fast as his little legs will carry him. Nific then
engages in surprisingly amicable conversation with the recruiter. He
discovers that the Blue Suns recently lost an important piece of
territory to a pack of Vorcha, but cannot spare the resources to reclaim
it. Therefore, the group are looking for freelance mercenaries to deal
with this problem for them. However, it seems that the universe,
(Actually, no, just Outcast) was conspiring against this poor guy.
Outcast, on the first roll with an official system, manages to land a
DERP roll of -2. There wasn't even a result for such a low score. What
does Outcast do? Produce his shotgun. Just out of the blue. The Turian
looks at him with a look of 'Excuse me?!", before Nific very deftly cuts
in and makes a Dexterity check of 19(+2=21) to slap said shotgun out of
Outcast's hand. Thankfully, Outcast fails to make an equally impressive
roll. The party go to consider the offer, but are rudely
interrupted by a hoodie-clad Salarian (Or, at least, the equivalent of)
who hands them a datapad. Reading the datapad, the group discover that
the Eclipse have been contacting groups of mercenaries around Omega in
order to request that they intercept a shipment of 'Fruit' from a ship
called the Limbsplitter. Because, you know, that's what you call a ship transporting fruit. By this point, we had actually spent an hour shopping. Just, shopping. It was actually sad. Eventually,
the party decided it would be a good idea to take their chances with
the Vorcha, instead of the potential for ship combat and an admittedly
rather lethal quest. The territory in question is an old slum in the
lower residential wards, which has been a good location for discreet
dealings and meetings in the past. The small team of Blue Suns set to
guard it had been overrun by a pack of Vorcha, and the company want
their land back, as well as an identification as to whether or not the
Vorcha were Blood Pack. Which, they were. The party travel to the
street in question, and are met by a veritable horde of Blood Pack
Vorcha, who are not really paying them any attention. Thanks to the
wonders of Dynamic Lighting, he party don't see several Pyros hidden
down the alleyways (Well, until Dragoo goes and spoils the entire point
by moving his character around the map until he knows where everything
is. Yes, I'm still annoyed about this). One of these days, I'll take a pre-encounter picture. Promise. So, anyway, there's the general layout. The party enter from the bottom, and devise a plan. Outcast and Teyra manage to sneak up and cover, while Nific attempts to pose as a Blood Pack leader. While it failed, he did make a very, very good attempt. Nific rolls a decent bluff check, but the Vorcha just about manage to beat it. They remain skeptical about their new boss and question him in true Vorcha fashion, I.E, a bunch of hissing and broken speech. Outcast prepares for the worst and primes a proximity mine, should Dragoo fail. Dragoo makes a second attempt at bluffing the Vorcha, this time with an intimidate check, but still fails. They screech and turn on him, but Outcast is ready. He, with the advantage granted to him by stealth, fires a proximity mine at the currently visible Pyro - And misses, succeeding only in alerting the enemy of their presence. Well done, Outcast. The following combat was going to have it's own post, but I realize it wasn't all that spectacular. Here goes. Initiative rolled, and the expected happens - Teyra aces her initiative, followed by a sprinkling of random Vorcha, then Nific in the middle, more Vorcha, Outcast (Who stopped responding after his Proximity Mine fail and rolled incredibly low. Nothing new there) followed by one more, slow little Vorcha. Teyra opens the only way Teyra knows how - Singularity. The Singularity catches two of the Vorcha in its swirly weirdness. A Pyro and a Grunt are immediately hoisted from the floor, with the Pyro having its shields broken, and the Grunt dieing instantly. Turns progress, and Nific finds himself in a spot of bother, surrounded by Vorcha who are making pathetic attempts to try and hit him. One Pyro does however, manage to give him a slight tan. Outcast finally takes his turn to further damage the still-floating Pyro, leaving him on enough health to die at the start of his next turn. Meanwhile, Nific gets ganged up on as the Vorcha attacking him close in for even more pathetic, frustrated melee attacks. Even though they had perfectly viable guns. Seeing the trouble, Outcast acts sensibly for once, and runs to Nific's aid, after Teyra takes off some of the heat with her second Singularity. Outcast deploys his Omni-Shield, standing in front of Nific to protect him against the Pyro. Turns proceed, everything dies. Therefore, Dragoo is proved to have been incredibly pessimistic. And that's about it. Session 7 blog pending, see you then! Bleak.
