Sorry, Basic Macro Question

I've tried some of the example macros I've seen around, but I must be missing something... I'm trying to walk through building a full attack macro for 3.5 and I'm copying straight from other folks who know what they're doing, but can't seem to get flanking to add a generic +2 bonus...I've tried 3 versions of the macro, but they all end up giving me something like 'Human Thug attacks tev rolling 20+ 1*2[Flank]'...I guess I expect the macro to give me a simple 'Human Thug attacks tev rolling 20+2'... Currently I've gotten through all of 1 step: @{selected|token_name} attacks @{target|token_name} rolling [[1d20]] + ?{Flank (1=yes)|0}*2[Flank] Which gives me: 'Human Thug attacks tev rolling 20+ 1*2[Flank]' I'm trying to parse out what each piece of the macro does, so I'm having trouble understanding how the flanking piece of the macro could even give +2. Any advice or assistance appreciated! Thanks!

Bob, When you input a 1 into the query it multiplies the 1 by 2 to give you the flanking value of 2. If you input a zero (or just hit return) it multiplies that same two by zero to give you zero (for when you don't have flanking). The query needs to be inside the roll brackets ( [[ ]] ) to work; you should have something like : [[1d20 + ?{Flank (1=yes)|0}*2[Flank] ]] edit: the [Flank] is just a label so you know where that part (the 1*2 or the 0*2) comes from.

You need to move all the math inside the online roll brackets. [[ ]] @{selected|token_name} attacks @{target|token_name} rolling [[1d20 + ?{Flank (1=yes)|0}*2[Flank] ]]

Thank you ma'am and sir, that helps a ton! Knowing about the roll brackets definitely helps with a lot of what I'm looking at!

If you want any further help with 3.5 specific macros feel free to drop me a PM and i'd be happy to assist. I currently run with >250 macros in my campaign (yes... i'm obsessed) and have been trained by the best (the 2 posters previously being chief amongst these). My macros are probably sloppy in places to the real experts but they do what i need so... meh ;)
Thank you Ziechael, I will likely do so! Even stuff as basic as what I just did will make games go quicker and cleaner, so I can only imagine what is possible!=)
