Selective hearing...wait, speaking?

I believe the most important things in D&D are surprise and ,obviously, role playing. Currently D&D suffers on both of these points, especially in a real life table top setting. Virtual table tops are the future of roleplaying games! With virtual tabletops you can actually communicate with specific players while not with others. How tacky does it feel when the DM turns to you and says "With your keen eyes you manage to see that the ruins are covered in a magical forcefield" and then everyone else suddenly starts acting out their turns as though they have this knowledge, you don't get any reward for your extra points in perception, instead your just a number that gets the whole group extra stuff to see. Wouldn't it be great if you actually had to relay all the information you personally saw to the entire group and maybe even leave out or add pieces of information? Maybe your a rogue and want that ring nobody saw, Maybe your getting tired of that gnome companion who hasn't seen the crocodile about to bite his kneecaps off, who knows. My proposed idea is a hotkey that could be pressed, perhaps "P" for personal, you could proceed to click on the player tiles/cameras you want to address. As you click them their tile/camera would light up and show you who you are currently being heard by. You talk and the players get the message until you release the "P" key. Done Deal! Players hear personal messages they can then relay to the other players and it's quick to deploy! GET VOTING PEOPLE! (I posted a suggestion a long time ago but I have forgotten what I called it and now I have expanded my idea so I'm posting this one.)

+1 To being able to selectively speak to a given player. Kind of like /w , but for the mic. BTW is this your first suggestion? Selective microphone whispering for DM's
Ah, there it is! I really need to get this combined, I prefer the wording on this one.
