Characters on different pages

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be possible to be able to put players separately on different maps, for example if one person in the party goes to the local church to pray while the others relax in the tavern, it would be possible for the character going to the church to be moved into another map and interact with the GM over a specific player issue while the others relax and grab some food irl or something. Would also work if one character gets thrown into jail, then his character won't be able to see what the others are experiencing while they're working on getting him out of there or while they're getting the money, or well, anything, it could work really well if you plan to isolate certain members of the party into other areas in general.
Splitting the party in general is pretty difficult to GM.  In a game I played the DM was just running around the room to different tables to keep everyone running.  The man just about went insane. Anything that'd make that task easier to accomplish is A-OK in my book.  One of my players absolutely abhors anything that isn't combat, so it'd be nice to be able to plop him a random part of town to beat up some thugs while the rest of the group goes about having their own brand of fun, without the combat stuff interfering with their dialogue.  Then just have them meet back up when it's time for everyone to smack some heads  together.
Party splitting has been suggested before. It is a good suggestion. +1

I heard of one GM running multiple boards at the same time and other gms just scheduling the two groups different days.
I have been reviewing the different threads on this forum, I play shadowrun and one great example would be if a player was on the astral plane, or in the matrix.
We just played a game where some of the players entered a new map and we kept having to switch back and forth. Very tiresome!  Definitely a +1!
I agree a great idea. In our group half went deeper into the temple chasing the bad guys while the others where freeing prisonors. +1
Yes, it would be a great idea. +1.

I like that idea also. We essentially "pause" the board when the party splits, but it limits a bit what can be done while the party is separate. Having the option to do so would be great. I could see that basically you could "group" players, and then have multiple Players bookmarks for each group that you could put on the appropriate pages.

combine that with an additional seperate chat tab then you could run two groups at the same time.
yes can this please be done now +1
At least having the option would be nice, for cases in which not all characters are in the same place.

I could use that right now in my pbp game. Got 3 characters decending stairs into the dungeon while another 2 are still topside dealing with a captured orc.
