Will be starting with the forgotten gods campaign as a base but likely to diverge pretty far pretty quickly from the published path. RP heavy style of play preferred. Will use Team Speak. Post below if interested.
I am interested, but I am a brand new player... I can roll a character, but I will need to be taught the mechanics of the game. I promise I'm a fast learner (I have played D&D 3.5 for years, so I understand how tabletop games work). Can I learn along the way? Or perhaps we can have a small session where you can teach me how to play? I want to play this game, but I just don't know the mechanics of the game.
Hey Michael, Not a problem to teach mechanics as we go - they are fairly simple. My suggestion would be you stick to a simpler class but we can discuss that during character creation. How familiar are you with the 40k universe. If you have no prior exposure this is also not a problem and can in fact be a huge advantage but I need a bit of context to ensure I'm explaining things to you correctly.

I have played Warhammer 40k and the Dawn of War series. I basically grew up around it because my father is a big fan, but I have not read any of the books. I do understand the politics between each race, the Imperium, and the galaxy-wide conquest, and the relationship each race has to each other. What level will this campaign be starting at?
Which edition?
Not sure. Whichever edition was current 8 years ago. I never was interested in the tabletop battle myself; I enjoyed the story more than the battle. I spent a lot of time reading the codices.
@Andrew I'll be running second edition. @Arcura - In many ways I think not being totally immersed in the universe is an advantage. Players who bring a massive knowledge of the setting tend to forget that most denizens of an Imperial planet have limited knowledge of what a space marine is. Let me know if you have any availability this Friday evening or almost anytime on Saturday and we can run through character creation.
Excellent, thank you! I am absolutely available both friday and saturday; whichever day works best for you and your group. Message me in private chat and we'll get the details sorted out. Thanks again for having me, and I look forward to getting started!
Hi I bought the books Dark Heresy 2nd edition, Black Crusade, and Only War on impulse and I am dying to try Dark Heresy. Got room for a totally new guy too? Also, because I have yet to make logging in here a habit, you can also contact me on skype at Jay Dako. I really REALLY want to get into the 40K games.
My Saturday nights are free, I'd be happy as a Sister of Battle, a Scum or an Assassin?
I'm still wondering if we are starting out at 0exp, or some other value. If we start from the bottom, I am playing my assassin.
I have no idea what I will play if I am allowed in. Again, totally new but I did skim the book.
Hi all - will be starting from 0 xp Jay D - you are welcome to join. If people are free I propose a character creation / introduction session this Saturday at say 8 EST.
The group I have so far is Poison, Jay D, and Arcura
so that is 5 PST right? I am pretty sure I can make it but you may want to add me on skype or something to remind me. I am new to roll20 as well.
OK messages sent to all those that wanted to play the game this saturday. If you want to take part and didnt get a message let me know. If you got a message and dont intend to play also let me know.
Yes that is 5 PST... I'm PST too.
Also, we are STARTING with 0 exp, correct? Which means don't spend the 1000 exp we start with? I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. I downloaded the second edition rulebook too, so I'm revising my assassin. Arcura will be ready for Saturday.
I'll post character creation guidelines this evening my time (which means Friday morning your time). Will be about Friday evening if anyone wants to walk through their characters.
Excellent. What time tomorrow? I also added you on skype.

Another new player here, and I hope that I'm not too late to join this. I'm brand new to Roll20, and relatively new to tabletops in general (a couple of Pathfinder under my belt but not particularly rule strict), so if I'd be allowed to join I may be a slow starter. I'm free all the time at the moment.
Adam P, Adam M - you are welcome to join. I would highlight first that this game will be heavy on role-play as well as combat. If the idea of really trying to get into a role is not appealing to you and you just want to throw dice and make things explode that is completely legitimate but this is probably not the game for you. If you want to play - PM me and we'll schedule some time for character creation on Friday night your time.
Character creation if you want to do it alone should be point buy, feel free to allocate 1000 starting xp. Do not roll your divination. If people want to roll stats hit me up Friday evening. I'll award 200 bonus xp.
I'd like to do rolls this evening then.
What time this evening are we going to start? Cause I have friends trying to get me to play Heroclix after the character creation.
