Ubuntu14.04-Chrome-dynamic lightning issue?

Hi, I do have dynamic lighning working under Ubuntu14.04+Firefox and Win7+Chrome, but the very same is not working under Ubuntu+Chrome on the same machine (side-by-side at the same time) where it is working with Firefox. Now I just wonder, if that might be a Roll20 problem or if my chrome is misconfigured. I vote for the second option, so is there a way to find out what exatcly is going wrong so I can fix it? (The map just stays dark and is not revealed by light and line-of sight. Global illumination reveals the complete map instead just the stuff inside the polygon.) -Lutz

Global illumination illuminates everything, which you would see as a GM. When you refer to the polygon, do you mean you have a creature in a polygon that is on the dynamic lighting layer? You can select them and hit ctrl-L (probably?) to see what they see, or give yourself control of the token and re-login as a player to see what they see. As for it not working on Chrome, it's entirely possible there is a chrome bug preventing it from working. You might try some other versions of Chrome, possibly Dev or Chrome Canary? I know there are some display bugs in the most resent version of Chrome for Windows that are resolved in the Dev version (so, coming soon to a Windows near you!). The same may be true on Ubuntu 14.04.
Sorry for being unclear. I do have my token (on the token layer) inside the polygon which is on the dynamic lightning layer. My token radiates light and is assigned to be controlled by me as player. I join the campain as player in a second browser-window, so I do have the GM view and the player view side-by-side. On the player-side with Firefox the global illumination is illuminating all inside the polygon. That is exactly what I expect and what can be seen in some Roll20 tutorial. With Chrome under Ubuntu (not under Windows) the player-view is either pitch black or illuminated as in the GM view. It is perfectly possible I screwed my Chrome on Linux. This is why I was asking, if there might be a trick to find out what's going wrong. Maybe some error-output by Chrome which don't know. I personally do not think this issue is anywhere close to the Roll20 System itself. If you are more concerned than me I am happy to do some further investigations with different versions of Chrome and let you know my results. For my campaingn it is not an issue. I just wasted a little time before I noticed, since I usually use Chrome and Linux. I was thinking I was doing something wrong until I tried a different browser. ;-) Cu, Lutz

My guess would be a bug in that version of chrome. You coukd make a big post in the bug forum with your console logs and the devs could look at it. I don't have any experience with Roll20 on chrome on Ubuntu, but if it's working in other browsers on the same system, it almost has to be an issue with chrome somewhere. You could try removing and reinstalling it if you think your chrome is corrupted, or maybe removing your local config for it, or running it as a different user?
