Restrict player control, but display bars

Hi, I'm started using roll20 recently and there is one thing I don't find how to do. I don't want to give the movement controls to my players, they says to me what they do, where they go, and I update their token with the informations I have. I can easily do that by not giving the token control to the player. The problem I have is that I still want to display bars, aura etc... to my players and, as they cannot click on their token (cause they can't move it), the bars doesn't popup and the play lost a whole part of the GUI. Is it possible to let user click on their avatar, in a kind of "view mode" (but still can't move it) to be able to view bars and aura ? Maybe this is already possible but I didn't find the solution, could you please explain me how to do it ? Thanks Alex

Having the bar marked as 'see' in the advanced settings should allow all players to see that bar without being able to edit it. Just because they can't control a token doesn't mean they can't click on it... or at least that is my understanding, will edit this post once tested ;) Nope, can't do it unless they can control the token... is there a reason why you don't want them moving the tokens themselves? By allowing them to control the token you can still set the bars to 'see' only so that they can't edit the values...
All you have to do is go into the Advanced section of the token, and set the corresponding items to Visible: Wiki Link 'cuz that image seems to be broken for some reason.

My tests indicate that you can't even select a token you don't control therefore the bars don't display even if 'all players can see' them is selected. Those slightly misleading advanced options relate to controlled tokens only... essentially to edit or not to edit, that is the option ;)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not the case... Witness the monster tokens in my own game, as seen from a player's perspective: All the tokens have their health bar clearly visible, except for that old farmer guy on the left... because I didn't set up any for him. One reason might be that you don't have both the current and maximum values set for the bars? It's also possible I'm mis-understanding the question. But yes, if set up properly, all bars should be visible to all players regardless of control status. -Phnord, who's done this more than once.

Fair point, i may have misread... viewing bars and auras is certainly possible as Phnord, who deserves a virtual nickel, rightly points out. Viewing actual values will not be possible unless a player has control of a token.

Viewing actual values will not be possible unless a player has control of a token. Of course, a player could always create a macro to let them see the value. For example: /w Brian @{target|Target 1|bar1}/@{target|Target 1|bar1|max}: [[floor(100 * @{target|Target 1|bar1} / @{target|Target 1|bar1|max})]]% This would produce something like "36/89: [40]%" as a whisper to myself, where I click on the target token (even if I can't control and select said token).

Shhh don't tell players that! Sometimes we don't want them knowing the true values... but that being said, that is genius Brian... never even thought of that as an option!
Heh, that macro of Brian's is why I asked for an option to hide those values/attributes from players somehow.
