looking for a group playing D&D 3.5 campaign welcoming noob players

I have zero experience playing 3.5. I have listened to pod casts of people playing it so I do have some experience I guess. I'm really desperate at this point and I'm willing to join almost anything so just post something here or pm me.
I won't end up as your GM, I run a different system, but do you have rules? what time zone are you in, and available what days and hours? There are a few other people in LFG that are also new, also looking for 3.5. Maybe you could bunch up with them. The real trick is finding someone willing to GM. Good luck, and welcome to the roll20 community.
What do you mean by rules? I pretty sure I'm GMT. I am available almost every day 5pm-12pm. thanks for help James.
Ah, sorry, I mean "You have no experience with 3.5" Do you have a 3.5 rules book to learn from? DMs will be asking, and you didn't say. Yeah there are a few GMT groups out there. It's tough for GMT, because it's so late night in US here to match up. There is a person from Austria that speaks English, and writes it better than most Anglos, looking for a 3.5 game also, in or near your time, I think. I have been posting to a lot of LFG threads, welcoming new players. Like I told them, I'm not running 3.5, but it's out there, just keep looking. The process can take a few days, but if you are clear in your intentions, and what you are looking for, you can find a game i a few days to a week. It helps to bunch up threads to find common factors like Time zone and systems desired, times of day, and so forth.
oh ok. Well I don't have rulebooks to learn it from.I have found some SRD stuff that I think will do the trick. Atleast I hope it will do the trick. Also I'm looking for a voice only game
this is where that other player is at. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1742178/noob-searching-for-a-helpful-group#post-1742417" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1742178/noob-searching-for-a-helpful-group#post-1742417</a>
hey :) I'm that other player he's talking about and we're both pretty much looking for the same thing. Maybe you could ask a friend to lend you a copy or look online for a pdf version of the player handbook. That could help you.
:) . If I was not busy, I would set up a game for you both. Maybe more people will jump in. I just do not have the time. Once you get about 4 people, I predict a DM will appear to run this for you.
hi Adelina.I sent you a Private message, I don't know if you saw it. Thanks for the advice on finding a book
well time to be watching forum 24/7 to make sure I can catch people looking for a group.

Once you get a few people, others jump in, then a DM appears. I'm already playing in a Traveller Session tonight and starting to run a new One Ring RPG next friday, and vowed to my wife, I'd only run one and play one. I used to run three and the wife and cats got lonely. But 3.5 is a cool system. You'll find people.
quick very off topic question, to you find D&D players to be cat people more often then not?

mm. Interesting. It doesn't seem to be a factor. Meaning some have dogs, some have cats some have both, some have no pets. What I do find in common is people who are smarter than the average, with vivid imaginations. And there is a significant portion of people in the military that play. not large, but constant. More than in the general population. Also they prefer military simulation RPGs more like Twilight:2000 and such. I grew up with dogs. but most of the places I lived there's no yard and dogs need more exercise and a big place to run. So we have two cats. Dogs bark a lot too, and a lot of places I have lived they want quiet. My cats are pretty quiet. But overall, the roleplaying vs pet ownership, I don't think it's one influencing the other.
you went pretty deeply into that lol. It was very helpful though
I'm a pretty deep person. I'm 50, been gaming since 1977, world travelled, been in a combat zone, rescued people in an earthquake, speak a little bit of 6 languages, learning more. Have run 90% of games in print., that were made before about 2008. And you are welcome.
