Reign of Winter Adventure Path - Roll20 Online Game - Now Recruiting

Greets and good day gentlefolk, I am currently in the process of ramping up for a weekly online gaming session that will be playing through the Reign of Winter Adventure Path and am looking for players interested in joining in the fun. This will be a weekly get together using Roll20.net as the gaming medium with Teamspeak for voice chat. We will not be using the voice/video in Roll20 as it can slow down the game. I am looking for a solid group of gamers who would like to play through the adventure path as a group. I will be giving PFS credit for this AP so you will have a number of chronicle credits applied to a PFS character of your choice. How will the game be played? - Weekly Roll20.net session, Teamspeak for voice, plus some PbP between sessions when we stop at areas that allow for some additional role play opportunities between games. - Character management will be handled between gaming sessions via forum posts. Buying/selling/leveling and so forth will be handled outside of the gaming session to provide for more time actually gaming. - I will select 6 players for the game. The reason for 6 is in case we have one or two "no shows" we should still be able to play. - Players will be issued a PFS chronicle sheet for each part of the adventure path that is approved for PFS play. They will be able to apply this sheet to any PFS character they have, given some limitations that will be discussed after player selection. - EXP will be given each session. If you miss a session you don't get the EXP. If you miss three sessions you will be replaced. - I will keep contact information for all applicants in the event that we need to replace someone. When will the game be played? - The game will play Sunday evening at 5pm EST till 9pm EST. I may consider running this on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, depending on what works best for those selected. - Playing in this game should be considered to be the same commitment as if you were playing in a weekly tabletop game with local friends. I'd like to see the same group finish the AP that starts it, but I have grown to understand that sometimes you cannot get the same level of commitment from online players. You can be assured you will have a solid level of it from me. What are the character build rules? - Characters should be built using point-buy rules with 20 points. Any content in the Core (Hardcover) Rulebooks is allowed, with the exception of non-standard races. Any non-standard races will be considered but must have a very good back story and concept. Core races and classes will be given more consideration over non-core. - Content outside of the core rulebooks is allowed pending GM approval. All content must be PFS legal. - All characters must be of a good or neutral alignment, and Chaotic Neutral will not be allowed. You are heroes, not psychopaths. - Players will start with the average starting wealth for their class. - Characters will start with two traits. One must be from the Reign of Winter Player's Guide. - All characters must include a background that gives them a reason to be in the starting city of Heldren for the adventure. They can be a resident, traveler, etc. but there should be a reason for them to be there and want to help. I will be looking at applications for about a week or so, with my final decision coming sometime shortly after that. Once the group has been formed we will finalize the start date and get things scheduled. How to apply - Post your character in this thread or message your character details to me on these forums. - You can also email the character to me at chad@endlessrpg.com - Make sure to include your background, description, general mannerisms, and so forth along with your submission. - Let me know the days that work best for you (Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, 5pm to 9pm EST). Thanks!
I would definitely be interested in this, though if it was on Wednesday (got other games on sunday and tuesday 7-11pm est). I can come up with a concept, though I would have to take a closer look at the PFS legal stuff.
"Chaotic Neutral will not be allowed. You are heroes, not psychopaths." You must have dealt with waaaay too many people that don't have a clue as to how to play that alignment. :(
Well, in my experience, most people seem to play it as "Chaotic Evil, but I do good stuff, which makes me Chaotic Neutral".
IMO, that's being too extreme. It's more like "Yeah, I'm a free spirit. If it feels comfortable to me, I'll do it. However, I'm not some kind of sociopath or pariah. Even I have standards."
Chad, I've got a LG dwarf monk that I'd like to play. Are the Reign of Winter campaign traits Society legal? Hero Lab's complaining about me trying to use Northern Ancestry on a society character.
Yes, you just need to make sure to check the Adventure Path as part of the chargen. You will be picking one campaign trait and one standard trait.
I turned off all the Companion & Campaign Setting Sources, and all the paths except Reign of Winter. Also set it to be a Society Organized Play character. It's throwing a flag that says: "Campaign Traits are not allowed for Pathfinder Society characters. This selection is not available to to Pathfinder Society characters." It's still applying the trait, I just wanted to ask because I've never actually played any Society games before Hmmm, just noticed it's complaining about Monk of the Sacred Mountain now too. Maybe I'll make a new copy of Digmaar from scratch. Bloody Hero Lab gets messed up easily. On an unrelated note; Chad, would you have any concerns with Digmaar worshipping one of the dwarven gods from Dwarves of Golarion?
I have a few lvl 1 characters in reserve from recently failed Roll20 games. I'll assume no one has fallen on the grenade yet, so I'll probably use this "leper healbot": http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=579947 General idea for backstory is that he was a house slave trained from birth to be a mundane doctor/healer; caught some kind of mysterious disease that got him kicked out of the household; wandered around in the desert and at the fringes of society, somewhere along the way got "blessed" by the gods with oracle powers; then got captured by pirate slavers, escaped, and wound up broke and on the run in Taldor. He will be into doing nice/adventurer-type stuff but his major goal is to get out of the Inner Sea before he gets tracked down and recaptured. Sun/Tue/Wed are all good days for me. I have years of 3e/PF experience although I have yet to do an AP or play in a PFS game (I have a Society card/number somewhere which still seemed to work last time I checked.)
I've PM'ed you :) I hope to join your campaign!

Below is my submission (see embedded link for character sheet). Sundays work best for me but Wednesday's are doable. Tuesday's are out though due to prior commitments. On the outskirts of Heldren village, in the Border Wood, there is a small hole in the ground that the halfling druid called Night Owl and his dire bat companion Nightwing call home. Night Owl has raised the dire bat from an early age after finding it abandoned after it's parents were slain by wandering adventurers. Living in a hole in the ground seems quite normal for the halfling although there are no furnishings in the hole. Night Owl took refuge in the hole after fleeing from his home town of Demgazi, where the locals feared his dire bat and sought to kill it. Night Owl fled through the Border Wood and hid out in his present location. Night Owl has been fearful of approaching the village of Heldren lest the peasants there also seek to slay his companion. So it is that Night Owl has been living alone in the wilderness for nearly a year. An excellent survivalist, he is quite comfortable supporting himself however despite endless hours of meditation to improve his communion with nature, he has grown lonely for sentient companionship. Seeking to befriend the locals, Night Owl hopes to prove that both he and his dire bat can make excellent defenders of the village. To that end, Night Owl has been training Nightwing in the dark to be a combat trained mount in the hopes that the Two Nights of Heldren (as he likes to call his small partnership) will be able to sweep in and save the day to become accepted local heroes. Nightwing is still exceptionally young though and barely able to carry Night Owl along with it's saddle and gear, let alone other equipment. To address this issue Night Owl has been using Ant Haul spells on Nightwing to allow him to carry a larger load. The spell only lasts 2 hours which limits the length of time that Night Owl can fly. Night Owl's small size makes his physical combat skills only marginally useful so he has been working on alternative combat strategies. The most recent trick that Night Owl has taught his dire bat, is to bombard. With a saddle bag full of lantern oil (since alchemist fire is too expensive), Night Owl has practiced lighting the oil flasks on fire using his Spark spell and handing the flasks (hung by leather thongs) to Nightwing. Nightwing does a flyby attack and drops the burning oil on the target. In theory the complex maneuver works but Night Owl has yet to try the attack out in a real combat. Night Owl really wants to get his hands on some magic wands so he can attack from the air using magic however such items are far beyond his means at the moment, especially since he is destitute and foraging for food on a daily basis. So for the moment his plan is to drop whatever he can improvise until he can come up with an effective aerial bombardment tactic.
Quick question: by "Core Rulebooks" do you mean any of the Paizo-approved books? If so, then my character is below. If not, tell me what I need to fix. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=581311 Entinu is an arrogant and self-involved half-elf sorcerer that wishes to see what magical secrets he can uncover in the realm of Irrisen. Even though his main goal is to stop Baba Yaga or whoever is behind the pockets of winter, the half-elf wishes to see what magic is kept in this land. Of course, it does help that he was the son of a human from Irrisen. The young sorcerer had learned quite a few things in his time amongst the elves, but he had always wanted to learn about the magic of his father's world. Deciding that the best option was to learn from the source itself, Entinu packed what he felt were the necessities for the trip as well as his own survival in the harsh lands. Even though he could have learned how to speak any language of his choosing, the half-elf instead decided to dedicate his time to learning Skald and Aklo to better converse with the natives of Irrisen. Eventually, he felt he was ready for the road ahead and his time in the North.
I e-mailed you my character sheet and back story for Lucien Advaren. I would very much enjoy being a part of your campaign!
Are you still recruiting?
