Recording sessions

Can anyone recommend good software for recording sessions, free or otherwise, in roll20? I will be gming a shadowrun 5e one shot soon, and I have loaded everything (maps, character pregens, etc) into Roll20. I want to be able to record the game screen as well as all audio for upload to youtube. thanks

My only experience with recording my screen has been Fraps . That's generally designed for recording video games, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for Roll20. The free version adds a small overlay of the website address to the video. Fraps isn't appropriate if you want to stream your games on Twitch or something, but if you're just looking to upload to YouTube it should be fine. I'm certain there are other tools, I just have no experience with them.

https://wiki.roll20.net/Live_Stream_and_Record_Game_Sessions has a variety of software for recording your sessions listed. Take a look and see if any of them fits your needs.

It's a little complicated to set up initially but FFSplit is a free open source option (theoretically it's an XSplit clone, but it's not as user friendly). If you're willing to pay or happy to have a watermark then FRAPS is probably the easiest for recording (not streaming).

Xsplit is very limited in its free version, you'll probably want to use OBS https://obsproject.com
