One of the things that makes roll20 so interesting for so many people is that it's not limited to just Dungeons and Dragons. It's very adaptable. If Fantasy isn't your thing, and there are a huge selection of options in Fantasy, there's plenty of Science Fiction games, Horror, western, mystery, and combinations of each of these.
Personally I've been a D&D players for decades and it's always my fall-back game.
I'm in the eastern US, so I'm at least 5, if not 6, hours behind you. But another cool thing about roll20 is that several of us can gather from anywhere. If we can find a couple of other people I'd be willing to GM a simple encounter of 4th Edition D&D, or even Basic D&D (quick to learn, and good introduction to the whole genre).
