New player to roll20 LFG - any setting fantasy or modern or future

Hello. I am new to roll20. I've been lurking for sometime, but have never reached out. I have played tabletop RPGs of many kinds, but not for a few years. Looking for a NEWB friendly group who plays in the evenings (any evening is fine), as I'm am in east coast NA. I will play almost any game system, any setting - although I really have my heart set on a Shadowrun/Cyberpunk game, or even a space game like Star Wars/Star Trek that has a similar feel. While I may not be able to rhyme off current rules, I catch on quick and have access to almost any game system. I have a headset/microphone and use TS, but will adapt as needed to other programs. Thanks for reading,
bump
I'm running a space adventure game with my own percentile system/setting. I am the GM.

Hey Steve. To get started with Roll20, your best bet would be to go through the Looking For Group forum and find one of the many, MANY "Learn the ropes" kinds of one-shots being posted lately. They're usually D&D5E in my experience, but there may be some for Shadowrun or other games. From the group that you one-shot with, send out private messages to the members asking if they have any campaigns looking for another player if you're looking for something more long term. To get into these games, just find the appropriate post (for example, there's one at the top of the bump list right now titled "DM, New to roll20 and 5e Looking for beginners to learn the ropes together"), go into the thread, and just post that you're interested in playing. Keep in mind, there are like a million players to each GM, so posting as a player looking to join a game usually won't get you anywhere, so your best bet is to go with the more personal touch I mentioned earlier (sending PMs to people you've gamed with in a one-shot or w/e) or just check around on the Looking For Group forum for a game/campaign setting that might appeal to you. I'm assuming TS is short for TeamSpeak, which is a fantastic program, but a lot of people I've come across prefer Skype, or Roll20's own built-in voice chat capabilities, so I'd recommend grabbing Skype and setting up an account if you don't already have one; you'll inevitably use it at some point during your time in Roll20. I hope this helps, in some way.
