Hey everyone,
As some of you know, we have had a bout of bad downtime over the last two days. I know that this has caused a lot of frustration, and even caused some of you to miss your scheduled games, for which we are incredibly sorry. I know that just saying "sorry" doesn't make it much better since you missed out on time with friends, but I hope that saying it does convey that we are sensitive to the problems you are experiencing and trying to correct them.
That being said, we are working as hard as possible to get things up and running smoothly. We've experienced tremendous growth over the past couple of months, and we're quickly approaching 40,000 users. That growth has taken a toll on the 3rd party that we rely on to provide the real-time syncing that you use while in-game (vital, as you may guess, to allowing Roll20 to work at all). They are working with us to try and get the scaling issue solved, and we're doing what we can from our end to assist.
I'm not passing blame here; at the end of the day, it shouldn't matter to you whether all of this is caused by me fat-fingering a key or by the internet in all of China going down -- the buck stops with the dev team. But we do want to let you know that we're doing all we can at this point to get things stable so you never have to worry about missing a scheduled game again.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, and we're hopeful we'll have this issue solved soon.
