Default Map Tiles / Packs Availalbe with Subscription / Tier Dependent?

Going to have to apologize if this is inappropriate in some way, just looking for information on the App20 Virtual Tabletop I'm a little uncertain of. I'm curious how the Marketplace interacts with a Mentor Subscription as an example for Maps. I'm in the understanding that there are hundreds of individual character / monster / ? tokens available for PC's and NPC's with that subscription, but do you likewise have access to any default map tiles or can map tiles only be purchased? And if there are default map tiles, how can you tell? I'm still reading through the various guides on roll20 but I figured I'd be a little proactive if I can't find the answer otherwise. Nothing that I've read or watched has so far clarified that point for me (I will admit, I can be a leetle bit thick sometimes). Thanks for your time :) quick edit: I'm mostly planning on using Maps as they exist in Dungeon or Dragon magazein articles via my Dungeons & Dragons Insider Subscription (4E) so I guess I can move those maps from the downloadable PDF to the Tabletop? Again, newb, hoping to not be more than that.
I dont know about the magazine articles, but for the first part, I do not believe being a Mentor (or supporter) gives any free map tiles. I think it is exclusively individual tokens like you mentioned. There are a few good modular sets, and you can always use paint/gimp/photoshop to make your own textures if you want to make maps. Once you get neck-deep into Roll20, it might be wise to invest in some high quality marketplace sets that allow high flexibility with their use.
Thanks Jake :) Very quick reply; I am still reading through everything about the Roll20 project and checking out all the videos and guides I can. Right now I'm just trying to gauge the level of my investment more than anything, as I'm on a return trip to school and so am working with budget that's a wee bit limited. My players are going to be for the most part in their teens and for the most part, nobody's to local to each other, so the virtual tabletop certainly sounds like the way to go. Just wish I had any artistic &/or technical expertise for some of these customizations I'm seeing.

Hi Michael. Welcome. Here is a link to a page displaying the contents of the Mentor Token Program. These are the art objects in the Roll20 Marketplace that can additionally be accessed for free if you subscribe as a Mentor Level Perk, https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search/exclu... Here are pages of Tiles that can be purchased on the Roll20 Marketplace and added to your game, https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search/tile/... Perhaps an important note, you can use Roll20 for free and find loads of free graphics in the web search as GM within your free Roll20 campaign, without buying anything. Also you can upload JPG, PNG, or GIF format (perhaps screenshots of whatever modules you already own at home). Also you can draw rough map sketches as-you-go simply using the drawing tools to make lines & shapes. Look here for instructions and especially, watch Kristin's tutorial video at the bottom of this page, https://wiki.roll20.net/Art_Library I recommend launching into your campaign, go to the Art Library tab, and type in some searches, like "stone floor" or "village" or "dungeon". Adjust the drop-down menu to search for Tokens, Maps, or Everything. Drag-and-drop some of the web results onto your tabletop Map Layer. Resize to taste, and fit different graphics together. You will soon get the idea of the vast amount of material that you can freely, fairly use. Supplement with graphics purchased from the Marketplace to really complete the picture and give a professional polish.
Thanks very much, Gold & Jake M! Using Dungeon adventures as my starting point, I'm able to use most of the art / map galleries to easily get the maps / tiles I want. Little tricky with getting the correct grid alignment (hand eye coordination: required) but it's looking a lot better than the doodly mess I started with. :D Looking forward to continuing my game. (Do I need to set my topic as 'Question Answered' somewhere. :?

I would like to see them do some some map tiles for subscribers. I, personally, would allow them to distribute my sets out to subscribers if they ever had any interest in doing so. I'm also sure that many other creators would agree.
