I'm making a set of dungeontiles! I got all the basic necessary tiles done for making hallways and rooms, but I know thats not all it takes to make a dungeon shine! But I'm making this for you guys, so I figured why not just ask? What do you guys look for in a dungeon kit? I've attached a screenshot of the pieces I've finished already, and I plan on doing some stairs, and a pit too, because those open lots of possibilities! also attached is an example of the pieces-so-far in action! woo!
From what I can think of off the top of my head: trap tile, Lava Tile, Hidden object tile, short + high walls/slopes, hole Looks awesome! I loved your pics of your board game too. Your'e really good at making sprites~ Will these be free to be distributed to happy GMs ^_^?

I'm probably going to try selling these sets, but I want to make sure they're worth buying, hence this discussion. Definitely adding 'suspicious-looking floor tiles' now for possible traps, and I can probably fill the pit tile with lava or spikes once I make it. Slopes are a little trickier, but I'll try tooling around a little and see how it looks.
Very nice Matt, I have several Tile sets I plan on releasing to the community as soon as I organize them. They are all totally integrated, that is every tile can be used with any other tile, they AUTOMATICALLY SNAP to the Roll20 Grid for precise fits. So far I have Dungeon, Crypt, Fort, Wood, Outdoor, and Cave. They include 45 degree passages as well and they are extremely easy to use. If anyone is interested I will try a attach a few pic of some of the tiles. Anyone who has played in any of Ajax' Games has seen these in action. I do not plan on charging for them, I may try to get them added to the Library. And I might add I am not an artist and these are all done in MS Paint.
Oh that's a good suggestion matt, angled tiles (45, 30, 60~)

The only thing missing that immediately jumps out to me in your set, Matt, is a stair case leading up and leading down for making multi level dungeons.
staircases and ladders ^_^

Working out some kinks, but there's that! Not sure i'm going to try 45 degree angles with this set. If I do a forest set, that'll be on the list though.

Nice!
Modular Style Tiles, used to create Game Interiors, these are formulated to Snap into the Roll20 Grid Show below is Screen Shot from Roll20 with a small dungeon set up and then exploded to show the individual tiles.
Would love to see sci-fi and modern versions as well! Scifi version would only need to be metallic/sleak walls, maybe some tubes and cool doors. Modern could be just brick walls, with modern doors and some tiles for windows

I actually saw some xamples of tilesets more like that AFTER I was well into my set and kicked myself a little for not starting with that format. I might still turn around and adjust to it though If I find the time.

There we go.
These are nice ....... still hoping you would be willing to make modern/sci-fi versions.

These are nice ....... still hoping you would be willing to make modern/sci-fi versions. I was actually thinking of trying a more abstract, eldritch alternate dimension type thing.. which would fit pretty well with modern/scifi settings.
Excited to see those Matt!
Those are really excellent! I love the style.
I've noticed that not enough traps are utilized in a campaign. WTB more traps!
Latest Set of Cave Tiles by Ajax and Examples Using a few of the other sets.
What measurements are you using pixel wise for the shapes? I've got a bare basic dungeon component set I've been working on; however, snapping to grid and stretching etc has been inconsistent as I've been using them. I want to say I was using 70x70? Don't have my files in front of me and PNG format.

for mine everything fits together pretty seamlessly if you just keep all the pieces the same size. I've been experimenting with different scales and stretching and whatnot and they're pretty pretty flexible if you pay attention to scale.
The easiest way to keep things snapping properly is to a) make them all the same size, and b) use a grid in your image design so that you're aware of where everything will line up with relation to the gridlines in Roll20. And 70x70 is the basic grid size in Roll20, so that's a good place to start! I've also found that if the overall tile image is not square, you may have to make a horizontal and vertical version to make sure the snapping is right (it really depends on how you set things up at the start, though). Square images are easier for snapping, but they are trickier when you are trying to move them around because selecting the transparent portion of the image still selects the image (overlapping tiles can be a bit of a pain to work with; there's not much you can do about that, though).
Matt, still really excited to see more from this set!
