Hello everyone! We tried a quick and dirty session last weekend with great results and some learnings. One of the learnings was that a laptop mic is VERY directional, and our group will be a setup of local players (2-4) all at one table, and 3+ players connecting remotely. We tried a few options with multiple laptops and devices but could not avoid reverb, so ended up working only with 1 laptop mic in the end which was great for me (the keeper), but was a bit lackluster for the sound quality of other players at the table outside the directional cone. To get the group tabletop experience I thought of using an omnidirectional mic placed center table for the local players for next time. Wondering if any other groups out there play similar setup and have any recommendations on brand/model. Play rooms will likely be a generic dining room space, i.e. open area without any specialized acoustic baffling, so if you have had a good experience with a certain make/model in that kind of situation, let me know. I would appreciate drawing on your experiences before dropping $100-$300 on something. Once decided I will give feedback here on forums as to how it goes in case anyone else has or is considering a similar setup and we can swap war stories. Cheers
