Hello, This advert is still a bit sparse as I am in the process of constructing a homebrew setting! I would like to include the players in that process, through the invention of 'historical' superheroes, groups and events that will provide a sense of authenticity to the campaign setting. Here is what I already have decided on regarding the setting: Set during the 1970's, in a roughly historical time line - altered for the presence of superheroes dating back to the late 1920's. Their presence grew from a handful of caped crusaders, to several hundred at the start of the second world war. During the war, their numbers were decimated and most countries agreed to refrain from allowing superheroes to partake in 'civilized' combat - viewing them to akin to the 'nuclear' option. When it is revealed that the Chinese and Russians have been supplying superheroes (or villains, depending on your outlook) to the NVA, America responds in kind and the war snowballs out of proportion. The player characters will have chosen to sign up, have been brainwashed, drafted or otherwise convinced to serve the forces of the United States and the South Vietnamese Army. The campaign will begin just before the climactic culmination of the war, with the player characters having free reign over where they choose to go next and what to do when they get there - with it in mind that the player characters are the 'good guys' (anti-heroes are fair game, though). It will be no secret to the players (though not their characters) that final stages of the war will spiral catastrophically out of control, with multiple superheroes from both sides being forced to 'save the world' from the actions of both their enemies and their more radical allies. The political fallout forces both the American and Communist governments to disavow their superheroes and bring the war to a reluctant close. Purges follow swiftly, with those superheroes who do not choose to become little more than shackled slaves being driven underground or slain by their former comrades. In terms of the tone of the game, it will be somewhere between the Iron Age and the Modern tone - dark, violent and with death being far more common than in the earlier Golden or Silver age comics. I have not set a day for the campaign yet, as I will need to discuss this with the group - but having Skype will be mandatory. I can rule out Tuesdays and Thursdays
