Just a quick suggestion...I'd like for my players to be able to turn the music off.  I know there's a volume control, but some players get loads of lag when music is played (some to the point of crashing the browser).  If those select few could turn off the music, I could still play it for the others.

Players have a master volume control as well on their settings tab. I'm not entirely sure if scrolling it all the way to the left will effectively set it to mute, so you might want them to double check to see if they individually manage their volume fixes the lag problems for them.

I believe you are missing the issue. Mute is well and good but the issue here isn't the sound, it's the fact that a file is being played and it causes lag even if the sound is muted, am I right Neith?

I'm not missing the issue, Terratani. I'm just checking with the OP if Soundcloud's player, which is what Roll20 uses, when muted is still causing lag for the players.
