I'm loving Roll20 . It is becoming my default gaming choice. As such I intend to use it for multiple campaigns (mine and others') and multiple genres . Roll20's main benefit is "getting the band back together" with gamers I've known since the '70s and others I only met last week. But the second feature is the chance for a more immersive experience . My players are remarking about how the music and ambient sounds I run are absorbing them into the game more than do verbal descriptions. (When they get too chatty amongst themselves and off-topic, nothing snaps them back into character like a dragon roar . I don't have to strive for their attention ... they are suddenly asking me , "What was that? What do I see? I get an arrow ready! I just rolled 12 for Initiative," et cetera. Sounds are a big part of my campaigns and yet they are a nightmare to manage. I can't tell you the number of times I've had to say, "Hold on. Hold on...." find the sound I want to surprise them, then play it, long after it would have had maximum impact. For such an awesome feature, Sounds are not really made to be flexible for storytelling on the fly. SUGGESTIONS: Color-coding. Filtering. Grouping (SFX, Music, Fantasy, Sci Fi). Less window acreage (font sizing and reduction of the "air" around the titles). A Stop All Sounds button, a Stop FX button and a Stop Music button. Would also be fun if sounds could stop OR "fade." (And for much later down the line ... a voice-changer for GMs to be able to better disguise themselves as NPCs, monsters, demons, other genders, etc.) Regards
