The size of the ruler-line and the distance should scale with zoom levels

Especially when using Roll20 to play tabletop war-games we end up measuring distances zoomed so far off that we can't see the numbers (the distance given by the ruler). The size of the ruler (the lines) and the font size of the numbers should scale so that they are always the same size (compared to the screen) regardless of the zoom level.

In theory at like 20 or 30% zoom you'd end up with a situation where the ruler is so big that the arrow doesn't fit inside the hex/square on the grid, and if you're not using a grid it would be almost impossible to accurately measure things, right?
Is there a way to make the size of the arrow and text independent of the zoom level?
The size of the line or the arrow isn't such a big problem it's the size of the font. The tool becomes useless if the user can't see the measure result (the numbers). Would it be possible to show the measure result elsewhere, not on the top of the line? Eg if it would be shown on its own box (kind a like the ini tool box) the font size could be the same regardless of zoom level.
+1 Upscale font.

The grid is to some degree system dependent. Some systems more or less require the use of square-grids some hex-grids and some don't have any rules for grids at all.
i agree that the ruler becomes almost useless at lower zoom levels, and something should be done about it. setting the font size independent of zoom level would probably be the easiest thing to do if i had to guess, and there really isnt a reason to scale the arrow/line. The other good way to handle it would be to do like Maetco suggested and move the measurement to a tool box like the one for text size/color or drawing color/fill. +1
+1 for adjusting font

+1 maybe click in one point and next in another and the result can show in chat box, like when we roll dices. What do you think about this idea?
In favor of a consistent font size for the measured distance.   Screen shot measured of one combat room at 100% zoom. Screen shot of the same room, measured at 10% zoom.
+1 for some method of text being easier to read
+1 for not scaling down the font via zoom (fixed pixel size, always the same legibility).
