Mic automatically changing volume level

When I'm on Roll20, my mic gain automatically adjusts itself. Because my mic picks up a trace of the sound in my headphones, this means my mic gain will rise to max whenever the jukebox is playing or another player is speaking, causing echoes for everyone else, and then deafen everyone when I speak.

After a couple hours of searching and troubleshooting, it seems the problem is caused by the Automatic Gain Control on WebRTC. Is there a fix for this yet? I found an old thread about it which said that there was no solution.
You can manually adjust your mic level in your operating system. You using windows?

Based on a bit of research, it appears this cannot be turned off by the user: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26485049/how-ca...

There is a way to change this configuration if you are using Google Hangouts (I've had the same problem), but it's not exposed in the configuration for Roll20's use of WebRTC.
Best solution might be another voice software. Skype and Teamspeak are very popular.
Oh, I was under the impression Google Hangouts suffered the same issue. I'll try that, thanks.
Doesn't Teamspeak require you to be running a server?

Hangouts does sometimes have that issue, but it has a configuration you can turn it off with (though it's a bit tedious to find).

Teamspeak does require a server. There are various providers, or you can run one yourself.
