LFG D&D group

Hi I'm totally new in tabletop games and im looking for a group to get started with. I know hardly nothing but im really eager to get started. im availible most days and im located in est timezone.
Heyhey. I'm also fairly new. More new to the site/online D&D than D&D all together. But I am not as expirienced as I could be. So, if you wanted maybe a group with a few new people so we could all learn together, we could do something like that. xD If there's a DM that'd dare take that on. XD
Sounds good :) But i really would need some help, hopefully we can find a experienced players to help
Yis. :3 I can help you with anything I know but expirienced players/DM would be best.
Which edition are you guys looking at playing?
Personally, I'm good with anything. But I know 3/3.5 best. But it's Matthew's thread so I'm good going with what he is. Or anything. XD
I'm willing to learn anything, I imagined i was going to find a group looking for players and just learn what ever version they played with
What day are you looking to be playing the game on?
Im good pretty much all day everyday :)
Well I would be up for running something on Fridays from 6pm-9pm EST. I've played D&D for years and my bread and butter as it were was 3.5 but the last few months I have been plunging head first into 4th edition. I could still DM 3.5 I'd just be a little rusty on all the rules lol.
im up for that :) either version
If you are starting a group for 3.5 or 4e, Could I possibly join you?  I'm not new to RPGs, but I am new to using roll20.net, so a game that starts out paced right for learning sounds pretty good, and I have a story I wrote for a character I wouldn't mind running. I'd be unavailable Wednesdays or Saturdays, but otherwise free evenings after 5pm mst.
Sounds like we've got a good group starting :)
I'd be up for that time!
Well 4th edition is a good stepping stone for those that are new to D&D, I mean the guys of WotC (Wizards of the Coast) designed the edition to be able to draw in a new influx of players that may have been turned off of the previous incarnations due to them having a significant amount more of rules.
Sound good. So we're going to be making characters there or?
What do you guys like to use for character sheets? Do you use mics or prefer not to or? xD I don't know any of these things for roll20.
Im good with using the video chat thing, or just voice chat
Once I'm certain what edition we are doing I'll let everyone know what is up :D
Phisto R. said: Well I would be up for running something on Fridays from 6pm-9pm EST. Im fine with later
My only concern/problem with starting later is that should I have to work the next day I would be getting up at 2:30am to go to work so even pushing it back an hour 7pm-10pm allots me 4 and a half hours of sleep assuming I fall asleep immediately. If the later time is what works for everyone then I will respectfully bow out to allow you to find a DM that suits your requirements :D
Now im torn xD new member or new dm Edit: ima say stick with phisto since he seems like the most experienced person here
It is up to you, I won't be offended if you decide to find a new DM, my work schedule is kinda brutal so I am totally cool with bowing out. :D
I'm quite alright not participating.  If everyone except me is fine with Phisto's schedule, then I wish you all a fun game. I could attempt to DM, but with lack of roll20 experience, i'm unsure how it would go.
Yeah i think sticking with phisto is the best idea :)
Friday night good for everyone? who can make it :)
I would like to play if there is still room, and you are still going with 4e.
I will say this, roll20 is quite user friendly so if Steve wished to try his hand at DMing it wouldn't be that hard and I would be more than happy to answer any and all questions he had about the interface.
Yeah so far i believe its Me, You, Morgan, and Phisto DM'ing
I'm fine with later, too.
Is 3 a big enough group ?
I got a game if Phisto doesnt mind if i dm
Well if I am to be the DM I guess I should let you guys know a little about me. I've been DMing for 17 or 18 years now and have been playing D&D for over 20. I am the type of DM that really enjoys to unfold good stories and I like to focus more on that then simply throwing my players against hordes of enemies. I am quite fond of using riddles and intrigue in my games. When it comes to playing on roll20 I do prefer to use mic's via skype as it makes the game run faster than everyone typing and gives it more of a tabletop feel. I run a couple of other weekly games on here and have lots of experience dealing with those that are new to the system or "table top" rpg's in general so I have no problems answering any and all questions you may have. With that in mind I have some questions for you all :D 1:  Is there a specific setting people would like to play in? I am not a fan of Faerun / Forgotten Realms so if possible I would like to avoid it. 2:  How much experience does everyone have? I am just curious as it allows me to not only build the adventure to be better suited to you guys but it also lets me know how much I will have to explain :D. 3:  If we are sticking with 4th edition, which seems to be the case, would everyone have access to at least the Players Hand Book (PHB)? I would like it if everyone did as it will make character creation a far bit easier for everyone. 4:  How many players would we want in this party? The standard party size for 4th ed is 5 players but I would be ok with 4 or even 6. It is up to you guys. 5:  If the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it?
I don't mind if you want to DM Nightsteel, if you would be able to better fit their time frame it is A-ok with me :D
1. doesnt matter to me 2. Little to none, i play the never winter mmo if that counts ;D 3 If one is available online il lfind it 4 doesnt matter to me 5 Ribs are delish EDIT: OKAY LOL
Add me on skype owneddeath2552
Alright added ;)
Hey i got some real life shit today and basicly every friday can we try saturdays?
Ok my campain is a dragon age RP there are some rules i need to explain 1: If your a race not in dragon age dont worry all 4e races are here "alt universe." 2: any class is availible if you can explain. 3: no you can not be a darkspawn 4: u can be any dragon age race 5: you need to create a backround and send it to me so i can make your character show that And last: If your want to start at a different level i can do that
also i can give anyone the 4e hand book on saturday
No offense Nightsteel but I would much rather have Phisto run a real 4e game.   Phisto seems to have a lot of experience running and using roll20  and I would prefer to play 4e over Dragon Age just like the system better.
ok any1 else feel same
I'm good with either day, though I kind of got psyked up for tonight. xD Anyways, questions. 1:  Anything, really. Historical, or Steampunk, or just modern. I'm not such a sci-fi buff, but I'd be okay with anything. 2:  I played some D&D at school, but that was like three years ago, and now I've forgotten lots of it. XD But I've not played 4. I'm fairly new to roll20 too. So... Novice, I guess. 3:  Iiii could... find one? Or use a site, maybe. 4:  Up to you guys. 5: Nope! Because it would control the rides of the ocean. ...Made of rib sauce.
Yeah im cool with whatever if the opinino is Phisto he can dm :)
1:  Is there a specific setting people would like to play in? I am not a fan of Faerun / Forgotten Realms so if possible I would like to avoid it. I would love to play Eberron or Darksun but generic points of light 4e is fine with me too. 2:  How much experience does everyone have? I am just curious as it allows me to not only build the adventure to be better suited to you guys but it also lets me know how much I will have to explain :D. I am 37 years old and gaming since I was 9 so yeah old hat at rpg's.  I run a few games on roll20 but don't get to play much. 3:  If we are sticking with 4th edition, which seems to be the case, would everyone have access to at least the Players Hand Book (PHB)? I would like it if everyone did as it will make character creation a far bit easier for everyone. Yes I do have access to most all the books, I use the old offline character builder that is patched to updated with current material.  I have the essentials line of books also and can help others make characters. 4:  How many players would we want in this party? The standard party size for 4th ed is 5 players but I would be ok with 4 or even 6. It is up to you guys. Same feelings as you anywhere from 4-6 is a good sized group. 5:  If the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it? Yes!, spare ribs.  Well OK wait a second does it still get hit with tons of space debris all the time cause that might make you sick or cause it to taste funny.
and we can do it tonight if we find a 4th hopefully a fifth:)
Yepp, I'd love that. :3
Well i got a friend of mine she plays with her family and can hopefully join us tonight :) and future fridays
^ Is this said friend. Parents tend  to bring up last minute events, but I will make it if nothing comes up!
