150620 The 600 Mile Travel between the End of the Sahuagin Temple and Arriving at Hommlet

After playing that module, I *playing Kyra at the time* thought that since she was more a NPC that they armor and shield she was using (from the party loot) went back to party loot. I spoke about this briefly with Balfon since he is the only player character who could use it. IF this was done, he would have +1 chain mail and +1 shield that came from the party loot pile. Not certain if Balfon had time to note that on his character card before we steamrolled from the saltmarsh to Hommlet.

Would the other NPC characters be putting their 'party loot' items back into the pile during that time or just holding on to what they have 'just in case'?
We might have done any buying/selling/trading (and training?) along the travel route...

We did fast track some portions knowing that errands and such would be handled between sessions in the forum here. Karmadel was also interested in visiting a mage tower and I suggested looking into where he might find someone of a high enough level along the way or not that far off the beaten path to take care of those types of personal items from his to-do list. Often times the rule of thumb is the higher the amount of a cities population, the higher the percentage chance of finding someone of a high enough level to accommodate high level requests....along with the high cost that typically comes along with it! Open your pocket book and brace yourself if they ask you to provide spell components that require him (you all) to quest into an area of even greater danger than where you are now, just to procure pieces or parts of something that might not want to give it/them up so easily (like vampire blood, dragon tooth, etc)! Be careful what you wish for, it might be your end all in the process!

As far as the cities in the map along the way, just google it (the links I posted earlier are now expired...they didn't pay their hosting bill....yikes!) All I need to know is the people or places that you visited along the way. Regarding the treasure and goodies from NPCs (including past players) may be absorbed back into the group, unless the party wishes to continue using said characters, then this would be a good place to discuss those items, and whether or not moving them around may or may not negatively impact those characters and their abilities that often times have and still do aid the party in times of need. Food for thought.

[DM] We got it before, Charles. Thanks.
I was playing Kyra with the +1 dwarf chain and Shield. As i assumed we're keeping her for the healing potency along the way.
im just sad in none of the cities along the way was Argo able to find a simple +1 Quarterstaff, or any magical staff for that matter. not that i would have been strong enough in this particular instance, but in general would be helpful. or even some magical chainmail :P
There are plenty of places we may have stopped at -- that first map were just the places closest to Hommlet. (near Verbobonc) We may have passed Gradsul or Gryrax before going 'upriver' toward the Gnarly Forest. Pick a town/city and negotiate... though I would think the port cities might have more variety than some of the inland towns. I thought either Enstad or Narwell would be good places to hit for supplies, since they seem to be larger populations.
I would advise everyone to check the Party Loot list. All items were identified and many sold but we kept all stuff 'magical' be they weapons or potions. Paul -- there IS one quarterstaff from the Sahaugin priest... it's a shocker but a staff. Who knows, maybe you can shove it up the mushrooms stem and 'taze' her.
Guess i need to go through the links and see what is availiable

@ Robert lol I love the tazing comment but I don't think it would work on her as you all need +2 or better weapons to hit the bitch and as far as I know even lighting bolts don't qualify as +1 weapons. Sorry but hey you never know it might work you won't know until you try. Good luck guys I do so hope that you all come out on top of this situation.
Mike I'll send you a Detailed message about what i'm looking for and what i would like to do to see what you think and or want me to do/accomplish to get these done.
@ Paul W. -- As posted above, you might want to contact Mike/DM & work out what, where and how you went about looking for that quarterstaff. Perhaps you are at the temple to do some ceremony to make a normal staff into something extra-ordinary?
yea, the 1st session we were there i did that, the response was a negative on finding anything on the way and nothing further. im sure he would have let me know if i needed to be here for something to happen. maybe its a surprise, who knows? ill be satisfied with my spells and kitty i guess.
