Sending A Private Message To A Player

August 14 (12 years ago)
I just noticed I can send a message to a player via the community site; however, I do not see any way to do this from my campaign page. How can I send a message to a player in my campaign from my campaign page/their profile?

Since most people are registered as their first name last initial, sending a message to this player yields more than 1 matching result. How do I know I am sending my message to the right John Doe?

I also just noticed there seems to be a major disconnect between app.roll20.net and community.roll20.net. Another player I am trying to contact doesn't show up in the user list (there is only one John D. and it isn't him).

Yeah community.roll20 and app.roll20 are two separate systems that only link if you tell it to. If your John D. has never gone on the forums, then you won't be able to find him here. It's why I used my full name here, actually :P

Ya.. It would be nice to have some way to message the people who join your campaigns. Or at least do a mailto function.
I have a couple people who joined my game in the LFG who didn't use the "apply" method (they were automatically added so I assume they clicked a linked I had up elsewhere). But contacting one of them with the same username revealed no correlation between usernames on the app portion and the community.
This is a MUST. Im sick of trying to contact my players.
I googled message your players, and came here :(

Presently our Mentors are testing out our brand new forum structure and communication tools. After a couple weeks of testing, we should be unveiling this to the rest of our user base. Hopefully it will make this issue a thing of the past.

Seems most of the comparatively old timers are using skype right now. Seems to work 'eh'. Better than nothing. If the players aren't motivated enough to make the minimum effort of establishing basic lines of commo, then there is a high probability of handholding in the future, it the 'hand' bothers to show up that is.
